My second home is outside of SLT, and I do the same. I typically ride early in the morning so I don’t see anyone and it’s cooler, but also means I don’t have to deal with any anti-emtbers either.
I see more and more ebikes on the trails each year so I think it’s only a matter of time (another...
Use search, a bunch of us have posted on the switch from FF to SL.
If you find yourself mostly riding on ‘Eco’, you’ll be happier on an SL. The FF feels like a super bike; the SL is a super you.
Although you had an issue with your motor and it’s fixed I thought I’d share my experience with SL overrun .
TLDR there is a little overrun and in some bikes it can be excessive, and your LBS can tune it out...
I've thought long about ebike security as well, and optimal combinations of smart lock + tracker + registry + insurance. Ultimately I always come back to the manufacturer... IMO the bike has to be bricked and impossible to resell/service if stolen. Otherwise there are too many quick ways around...
semi-serious question: if you've got a Hiplok D1000 that takes ~20min and 5-6 grinder blades to cut through, what do you lock it to? (I've watched the Hiplok video, and can't un-see it... I missed the kickstarter but now want one).
My question is likely not a problem for a while, but at some...
Same. I had years off, was out of shape and confidence. Had FF Levo for a year, was awesome but by the end of the season I was riding eco only and it felt like a monster truck to me. Sold it for an SL, couldn’t be happier. I’m 50+ and in reasonably good shape. Ride mostly in Sierras
@blueglide generally agree with you on not having debt but with interest rates so low and inflation ripping, cash is trash. Better to own hard assets (yes, even a bike). That bike will be more expensive next year for sure.
I ride my SL almost exclusively but kept my old Stumpjumper. Couldn’t...
I have a 2020 SL Expert, and I ride some rocky terrain (new fav trail pic) and have cracked my bash guard (aka rock guard).
I'm looking at replacement options... weighing between just get a Spesh OEM replacment, or there are a couple aftermarket metal guards. I'm tempted to go aftermarket...
Been thinking about putting GPS tracking in my Levo SL for anti-theft, but battery life seems to be a problem for most trackers. Ideally I'd like something that is wired to the main battery and never comes out of the bike, and I never have to think of charging it.
I've seen mention of the 12v...
Use the search feature on the forum... this has been discussed a few times (I've posted on it... I switched from a Levo to my SL Expert over a year ago). If you are happy riding at 50% or less and never deplete your battery more that ~50-60% nor use 'Turbo' on the Levo you fit the target for...
Y I realize the problem. Guess I was thinking airbag is more reliable and could give you a location straight away. Might give away thieves address. If the Tile were in a different location might get lucky and if they don’t find it first could be a longer term tracker albeit less effective ...
@cole_inman do you use premium service with your Tile Pro? AirTag without the warning would be the best, but maybe AirTag + Tile would be a good alternative. I've looked at purpose built trackers but it doesn't seem any of them have raving reviews. Although I'm obsessive about keeping my bike...
Yes sorry, I fumbled the comment link.
Was doing that on my mobile while at kid's soccer game. I was trying to be extra helpful and I made it worse! I've corrected it above but here's the direct comment link: US Forest Service NEPA Projects Home
Actually I posted a link to the docs (proposal text and maps): Forest Service
and I posted a link directly to the comment form: US Forest Service NEPA Projects Home
you can find the comment form yourself from the docs link i posted (lower right, "Objections"), and you can find the docs from the...

Same. Annoyingly loud, louder than my old Levo. My typical rides are early morning forest rides. The noise gets in the way of the peaceful forest so I just turn it off as much as possible eg on less steep sections.
Still love my SL though and wouldn’t trade it, except for a quieter SL ?. I’d...
