Welcome, I think you will find things a lot friendlier over here than on MTBR. Have to say the way that place is at the moment is shameful. Why they have an e-mtb forum and then let the haters run riot is beyond me.
Not ridden a Levo so this is just general musings...
One thing to be aware going in is what the extra gets you in terms of spec. Frame suspension and wheells are probably good upgrades but most components just get lighter as you go up the range. e.g. SRAM GX perfoms just the same as XX1 but is...
Agreed, e-bikes are a touchy subject and taking KOMs from normal mountain bikes is not going to help. Easy to change OP Just go to the ride in strava and click on the edit icon (pencil) you will then see the option to change activity type.
Exactly, not only do we have to deal with new tech in the bike industry making our prid and joy obsolete, we will also (hopefully) have significant development in e-bike tech over the next few years making our e-bikes even more obsolete.
Hi
Not seen this mentioned before but I was getting a bit frustrated by the 5 bar battery display so had a play with my Garmin edge 1000 and you can pair the steps system to allow the garmin to display battery percentage. Make sure your bike is on. Go to settings and sensors and pick discover...
Forgetting my helmet is my worst one. Was at Peaslake and thankfully the awfully nice Howard at Pedal and Spoke lent me his! It probably herlped that I have bought numerous expensive bikes from there ;)
Excellent. Mine is arriving this week. Wanted the Tuned but out of stock with Scott so my local shop could not get one. Let us know what you think of it.
Not that I understand the figures but it looks like Pottsy above has managed quite a bit more climbing on a 500kw battery but in eco. I suspect I will just need to get used to managing the battery once I get my hands on the bike. Will update here once I have done a few rides.
Interesting,
When I tested the e-genius with Steps motor I only got about 27 miles with 3000ft climbing. Will see how that progresses once mine arrives. I was mostly in trail so eco may be the key.
I'm with Gary on this one...it would be good to know what sort of riding the Op is doing before suggesting the best bike. My feeling (with limited experience but lots of reading) is that componentry is less important on an e-bike in many ways (Except brakes). What I mean is top spec normal mtb...
Nice! Am also in Worthing and just ordered an e-genius from JP at Quest. Can't wait. I'll hijack your thread to say hi as well, since I would have said pretty much the same thing!
