I would if my only purpose for the bike was just trail riding. 25kph (Australia) is just fine. I have a Trek Fuel EXe with a speed sensor mod with the only down side being the speed reading. Out on the tracks it makes no difference. However, perhaps once or twice a month I want an easy...
Managed to finish my home made range extender using reclaimed 18650 cells. I had these laying around so it was a good cheap option to start with.
Really happy with the way it has turned out. A few challenges though. The plug was quite difficult to reproduce using 3D printing methods. It needs...
Finished printing the 4 components for the range extender. Around 14 hours of printing in this even with just a 10% infill. After a bit of cleanup, the parts fit nicely into each other to form the full assembly. The fit in the standard bottle cage is nice and snug. I don't think it will even...
I have been watching your progress and appreciate you sharing your work to date. Good luck with the 260Wh range extender. If you can give it an OEM vibe, I think it will be very popular.
I really find it hard to justify the cost of a range extender for this bike. In Australia, when the range extender becomes available, it will be $1,000.00 AUD with the required accessories. Decided to design my own and build it for a fraction of the cost (less then $50 using quality reclaimed...
I mainly use the bike on steep single track in assist 2 and 3 and get a similar distance and elevation to Mteam. Last ride was an exception due to most of MTB trails being shut down at the moment due to rain where I live. I really just wanted to demonstrate that the exe does have good...
Although I have no doubts about Rob's testing in relation to meters climbed compared to the Fazua, to be fair, they were completely different rides. A real comparison would be the same climb back to back with the two bike systems. As a third comparison, below is my ride from yesterday on my exe...
Wondering if people are setting up the motor tuning on the app just by feel or have some sort of formula they are using? I am personally using a simple formula to set the assist percentage which is working really well for me.
For anyone interested, this is what I do.
Firstly you need to...
Just want to clear that my LBS said they torqued up some bottom bracket bolts as per the received bulletin. They weren't that specific understandably. Bottom line, it fixed my problem (clicking noise from the BB) I have done another hard ride since the fix and all is still good. Trek are as...
Follow up on my bike after the 200km service and bolt re torque fix for the clicking noise from the motor. 20km at a bike park in muddy conditions and lots of climbing. Bike rode perfectly. No return of the noise thus far. Bike need a good clean though :)
Not so sure on that. I personally think the divide will stay around the same with both types getting lighter as battery tech continues to evolve. Lets revisit in a year or two :)
Same here in Australia on the 9.7. Not complaining. I would however be complaining about the wrong spec cranks if I had purchased the 9.8. Worth noting my LBS had no idea about the upgraded brakes until l told them.
As disappointing as it is that Trek HQ didn't come forward with a plan for...
If you remove the battery to run the bike acoustic only, there is meant to be a spring clip with a threaded hole that you take off the lower battery cover (storage tab shown) and clip it over the lower mounting hole in the frame so you can re attached the lower cover. Mine didn't come with this...
My bike has just had its first complementary service after 200km riding. I am loving the bike and is exactly what I was looking for. (mine is a 9.7 but with a 160mm Fox 36 and AXS derailleur and shifter added). The bike did have a creak and ticking noise coming from the bottom bracket/motor...
I have had my 9.7 for 6 weeks now and have done around 200km all single track. No problems so far (touch wood).
A couple of mods. A 160mm Fox 36 Fork and a Sram ASX derailleur and shifter which works perfectly on the Shimano 12 speed cassette. (All ratted off my modified acoustic Stumpy)
I love...
