Is there any credible evidence to support the rumour that Bosch will increase the power of the new motor to compete with DJI, other than that’s what they did years ago on the Gen 4? Seems to me more optimism than rationality.
Yes it was. The difference is the increased progression - stock is too linear for my tastes and what I like to ride. That and the obvious increase in travel.
I went with a 170mm 38, Cascade link (so 160mm travel) and an EXT Storia tuned to the link and bike from Cascade. Running high and slack. Still running dual 29s.
It’s incredible.
I don’t get this. Why wouldn’t they have done this already, knowing the competition they’re facing? It sounds like a marketing carrot on a stick to me.
The Crestline is great for smashing and getting maximum laps in. The trails I was describing were steep, slow and tech. There’s manoeuvrability from the lower weight felt much nicer.
But I think no matter the trail, I’d prefer a much lighter bike with similar travel for the downhills. Turns...
Yeah, maybe! However the Vala does seem more enduro focused than the Amflow - just look at the stock tyre spec. Super keen to try an Amflow, I might end up getting one.
My points above still stand that for what the Vala is, like for like, 800Wh is not always preferable to 600Wh, and there’s a...
That’s a question of battery efficiency, which is objectively good. More Wh/kg is objectively good.
Ride quality is enhances by lower system weight, almost irrefutably, for DH/enduro riding. Some people value fitness more than others. I think SC understand this and have aimed this bike at a...
You know you can change modes?
Am I the only one who loves the idea of a 1kg lighter bike, with the sacrifice being having to exert slightly more personal energy on a longer ride or carry water in a pack?
What’s the end game here? A bike with a 10000Wh battery with a 2000 watt motor that weighs...
Thanks for the review! I’ve got on my Nomad and I love it. I’ll likely get one for my Crestline too. Can I ask if you’re running a lower spring rate than expected? I’m running about 65lbs lighter than I was with a DHX2 or RS SDU coil on my Nomad. There’s a lot of hydraulic support going on in there!
I really don’t think that’s the case - I’m sure they know what they’re doing. If Crestline can nail a VPP, then I’m sure SC can make this platform work.
I can corroborate. I have the Storia on my SL and the Vorsprung Telum on my analogue. They’re the best shocks I’ve ridden, and unfortunately I’ve tried a lot. They go about their duties in different ways, but both are phenomenal. They cost more, but not having to buy and guess spring rates makes...
This happened to me during a crash. I took it to my LBS and they sorted replaced it - there is some reprogramming to do so you can’t do it yourself. I was given a 50% discount but it was till very expensive!
I just took the Boxxer off mine and replaced it with the new 3.1 Zeb at 190mm. I do prefer this over the dual crown - the slight reduction in travel and stiffness is worth the versatility you get back.
I have it paired with a Storia. Personally I really like it - the increased progression suits my riding style and the trails I ride. With the stock link and shock I was running sag in the high teens in order not to bottom out.
Very happy with my decision.
