You can get just as good a workout on full fat as you can the SL, you’ll just get a way more exhilarating feeling while going hard on full fat and tackle steeper climbs and techy lines that may be impossible on the SL. Even on flattish rolling twisty trails where some may say the SL is the bike...
My ebike hasn’t required anymore maintenance than my acoustic bike after its 1st 2250 miles Since I got it late last November and counting....
Im on the 3rd chain on original cassette and chainring, the second set of brake pads front and rear, second set of tires. And that’s it.
I ride in all...
When not creating new trail or maintaining existing trail, I ride, just ride. 20 miles and close to 4000 feet of climbing this am on a combination of hiking trails and mtb trails. Mostly trail and boost mode. The climbs are wicked. Some not possible on acoustic bikes. Love that.
For the beatings that mtb’s take, I think they’re very reliable. Emtb (with Shimano steps) are no exception. Don’t hose em down and or needlessly pull them apart to do things that don’t need doing and they’ll go a lot of time and miles without any trouble.
