I put my bike (Commencal SX with the E13 cranks) into my local bike shop mid January for a yearly service, he calls to tell me the spindle is cracked, organises the warranty claim for me, sent the motor to Shimano, the motor gets sent back with the warranty denied, so I contact Commencal, they...
I had the old PW-X1 motor on my old bike and moved to the EP8 on my new bike, I think, for me at least the Yamaha was a better motor.
Will be interesting to see how the PW-X3 goes with decent testing.
Welcome to the forum Dave, sounds like you keep busy, good looking out for the young ones.
Nice bike btw, I have the same ride, it's a bit of a monster truck that ploughs through stuff, I love it.
Just come back from a very nice week in rural Tasmania, Aussies will know of Blue Derby (an old tin mining town that is now a MTB riding destination) and the surrounding areas and that it has a great network of trails. @flash and I had 4 days of amazing riding with my highlight being the...
For anyone in the same boat as I am, my local Commencal (Australia) guy called me and he said earlier pre-orders (October in my case) are not affected by this, the only thing that may happen is higher local shipping costs.
Keen for my SX to arrive late January.
Yeah I got an email form them with the same info, will be interesting to see if other manufacturers will follow suit. I will follow up my local supplier and see what this means for my pre-order from October, if they know anything at this early stage.
Yeah, in the last 2 years I have been riding EMTBs, people on Acoustic bikes have slowly been getting used to us being around, as already mentioned, they will often hear us coming or realise the speed at which you are climbing and move over or start looking for a place to move over. Here in Oz...
Welcome mate, as Gordon said Tassie has world class trails and I believe a relatively new trail network at Wild Mersy (near Latrobe). Derby and Maydena has a few green trails to access.
If you have time to ride in January you could check out some of the calmer trails at Ourimbah MTB Park or...
I'm the same, I'm like a spoiled kid, I changed my 29 order to the SX and have to wait till next year now as well, the FOMO is real!
Good to see that they are shipping the early pre-orders now though.
I use the Dakine Hot Laps 2L Hydration Hip Pack, it has my basic tools, water bladder, keys & energy gel/bars. I put my phone (S10+) in the same pocket as the water bladder. It will still get vibrations but I have come off the bike several times, twice falling directly on my pack and the phone...
Yep, gave up on the last app and I'm giving up on this one as well. I updated the firmware which went fine, but recording rides does not work. I don't know what the deal is with Giant and this app and the previous app. Waste of time and energy. They had the chance to do it right with the new app...
Don't worry about that stuff just yet, what Yilt said is fair advice, give it a month and get to know your bike, then upgrade what you know you need to change. it'll make the upgrading of parts funner and more worth while.
I hear ya, I've been looking at getting the new Commencal since July and when pre-orders said September to October delivery I thought sweeeet, but then the EP8 debacle soon squashed that, I guess I am lucky enough to have my 2019 Trance so I shouldn't moan too much. I would love to get it...
When you are on Google Play and looking at the OLD app page, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and look for the new dark blue Giant icon with the text 'RideControl App', click that and it should open the new app for you.
Thanks for the reply, my only real concern with this bike is it may not be easy to polish scratches out. Might take a chance anyway, it's just a bike at the end of the day.
@Trickz , @Anzafin , @Duggan , Can anyone advise on how the polished finish is holding up on the SX Signatures? Is it difficult to maintain?
I have the 2021 29 Signature on order but seriously thinking about swapping to the SX Signature.
I like the polish as well, the other thing is that it is 1kg lighter than the Signature with Fox factory.
I don't know much about the Ohlins, the only thing I have seen that may correlate is that a review I saw of the Ohlins RXF 36 M.2 is that the Ohlins are closer in feel to Fox 36 than a...
Fair comment, I didn't re-read that description. As someone who has pre-ordered this bike I didn't like the confusion of a possible spec change, don't mind the colour change though, in fact I think I prefer it.
All I need now is some black and white gear to match.
They see me rollin, they hatin.
A 3 minute Photoshop job would have been better than the one on the website. Wrong rear tyre, wrong cranks, disk and dropper. Don't know why they did start with the original pics. Anyway, this is closer I would think unless they are changing the spec.
