The answer for me is simple N+1. I never feel like I have enough bikes. Love my Kenevo, love my enduro bike, just building up a winter HT. till feel like I'd like a DJ bike too. Bikes are fun... Why stick to just one? ;)
Go for it mate. The best upgrade you can make. In the 5 years I've been running tubeless (on 3 separate bikes), I've had not one puncture. Dead easy to do. Get stuck in.
A good, well made. But... There is something to be said for learning how your bike works and how to mend it / upgrade it yourself.
I'm certainly not the world's best spannerer. I end up taking my bike to the shop on a very regular basis. I'm definitely on first name terms / social media...
Sorry I just realised I wasn't actually wrong, I just didn't post the full process (just got some new tyres for the Kenevo and was thinking about my process). I'm only using the co2 to seat the tyre on the bead. No sealant in the tyre at that point. Once I'm happy it's sealed, let the tyre down...
I have a Kenevo which I clean in the same way as I would my regular MTBs; with a bucket of soapy water and the hose pipe. Dry and lube afterwards. The only extra steps I take are removing the battery first, and wrapping the battery contact on the bike with a plastic bag and a cable tie to try to...
Hmmm, I have heard something along those lines before actually. I've been using Stans for at least 3 years and inflating my tyres this way. Never had a problem. And when I've swapped tyres the sealant left in the tyre has still been liquid.
That said, I thought I'd look it up: Technical FAQ...
Yeah I don't think it's the end of the world if you shove out mid air and your tyre hits your ass. The bike is unweighted so it doesn't hurt or anything. And usually from that point the bike comes down beneath you to catch you. I've done that quite a few times too.
Catching the tyre on your...
The Hopper is brilliant. You can set it up on a grassy field and just session it. If you fancy a go, PM me.
Nice one with the kids. Wish I'd learned jumps as a kid (or remembered them).
The Cycle Hub have a wood behind them where they've built some trails and features. Only open to coaches...
I'd agree with some of that.
My advice would be to try and be progressive in the size of drops you tackle. When you land both wheels together from a 2ft drop time after time, try 3ft. Don't go straight for 9ft! The technique is the same (like @DEADMEAT) says, but fear will cause you to tense...
Thanks @Eckythump :-) - I do run coaching on weekends & weekdays, and do private lessons for up to 6 people. I do an airtime course for riders just wanting to get started with jumps and drops but it's at Dalby Forest. They don't have any big drop offs. The biggest drop is not even wheel size...
I've done a few now. My observations:
Some tyres / rims are easier than others for getting the tyre on / off.
I just use a CO2 cartridge for fast inflate. Seems to work like a charm.
I got a new Canyon Torque recently. I was amazed at how easy it was to make it tubeless. The rims were already...
Maybe I'm alone here but I actually like the Command Post. I had one on my Enduro, it got moved to my hardtail, and it's still going strong. Sure, it tries to implement an alternative approach to birth control, but once your balls have been forcibly rammed into your intestines once, you tend to...
P.S. I use the stock settings. Never bothered with the customising through Mission Control (oh, and just remembered I rode down and back up Gunnerside to *ahem* test it before marshalling there. I'd left my pack with Strava running at my marshal point. Rode up using turbo, so I got another...
Got the job of sweeping the Ard Rock marathon course on my Kenevo the other week. 52kms, 4750ft of vert and I still had 2 bars left! It's the first ride I've really had to manage the battery usage. Did most of it in eco with the odd bit of turbo / trail. I'm about 75kg (bit more with pack...
Hey up guys,
Anyone interested in an E-MTB Leader course? A coaching / guiding qualification. Mountain Bike Trail Leader (EB) E-bike Course from MBCUK
If you have any questions, I trained with MBCUK. It was a great experience.
Cheers, Gareth
I run MM on the front and Hans Dampf on back of my Enduro and I really like em. But I have to say I can't complain about the stock tyres on the Kenevo either. They run nice and fast and they slide predictably (I'm about 75kg running about 20psi). I'd say if you're washing out at the front...
