I just got a BMC with the TQ motor and would like an app that lets me review rides, showing both rider and motor power along with all the usual statistics. I don’t think the TQ app lets you review a ride unless I didn’t use it correctly. My Garmin only shows rider power.
I did test ride a trek...
I don’t think there’s any accurate way to determine your power without a power meter. If you had experience with one in the past you could get a rough estimate based on your perceived exertion and heart rate and the time or average speed comparison from other rides. I know TQ has said not to...
Good point about most of the world not knowing (or caring) about imperial measure units. I was promised by my elementary teacher in the 60’s that we (U.S.) would be using the metric system within 5 years. He then gave up trying to teach us about it because nobody, including himself, could follow...
It couldn’t hurt if we email specialized support with our motor upgrade hopes, and emphasize how that would insure brand loyalty in the future. I’ll do that right now.
I’d like to get your take on the motor noise too, after a good ride or two. I think I’ve read that you have or had both the gen 1 Levo sl and the fuel exe. If so, a comparison and ranking of the three motors would be really helpful!
I agree with your sentiments! How hard could it be to design the new motor to fit the current frame, or make a mounting bracket they allows it? More profits with new bike sale than new motor sale, I guess. Unless the new motor is a step up from the TQ I don’t think that strategy is going to work...
Thanks for your reviews everyone. The whine of my specialized SL motor seems to annoy me more and more. A near-silent TQ would be a welcome change. Does the trek app or the garmin data collected give detailed motor power details from a ride?
Yeah, as I said, I’m considering getting a fuel exe to replace a specialized Levo sl. I haven’t been able to test ride one yet so I asked the questions in my post.
Can you give me some feedback on my questions?
Thanks
I’m considering getting a Fuel EXe and would like to know what info the Trek central app shows you when reviewing rides. I have a Levo sl now and use the Blevo app which shows tons of data, like motor and rider power at any point in the ride when reviewing it post-ride. I downloaded the trek...
