I borrowed a charger from a buddy who has an extra one to see if either battery would respond differently to a different charger - unfortunately it didn't - I thoroughly cleaned the plug on mine and will probably do it again several times since I'm scared to use my charger - when I get the new...
Well after a lot of back and forth and investigation, I have 2 very expensive bricked batteries that have not been used that much and according to Specialized cannot be repaired. I spoke with a nice rep from Spesh who basically said (simple version at least) that it is very likely that somehow...
You may have missed this in my lengthy reply above:
“Regarding the health of the batteries, I wrote "high 90%" which I realize was confusing - they were not 90% health, but both closer to 98-99% and the reason I did not write the exact amount is that I can't connect to verify the exact % but...
Thanks for all of the great responses; I am impressed at the knowledge here, but will admit I don't fully understand some of this technical stuff.
Regarding the health of the batteries, I wrote "high 90%" which I realize was confusing - they were not 90% health, but both closer to 98-99% and...
When I plug either of the batteries in to charge, only the 2nd light blinks, which is the error code for a failure. The bike does not turn on at all so cannot look at app with either battery installed, but it does turn on with a friends battery.
I have had 2 700 watt Specialized Levo batteries (I have always had 2 for big rides and trips) fail back to back within 1 week of each other and they were both showing high 90% health have less than 100 cycles each. It just seems like too much of a coincidence and, other than really bad luck...
Hey I managed to strip 1 of those M2 hex bolts holding the port in place - did the M2 x 6mm countersunk hex bolts you ordered work out for you? Do you recall where you got them? Thanks!
Here's a strange one - I have 2 batteries and am intermittently getting the error again but only with 1 of the batteries, so it must be the battery right? A-ha not so fast! I also have a Kenevo and this battery which doesn't work in the Levo works perfectly fine in the Kenevo! Any thoughts?
I was curious if anybody has measured how much insertion depth there is on a medium Levo SL for a dropper post? Other bike sizes would be helpful for reference as well. I did a search and could not find this measurement; or even just knowing what dropper posts people are able to run may be...
Thanks for the info on the reboot
Curious how the magnet becomes misaligned? Seems like with it being embedded w/ the rotor bolts, there is no way it could move?
I realized that I never reported back what the solution to my issue was. It turned out the cable that connect the sensor to the motor was faulty - replaced it and have not received the error since
Of course 1st make sure you have the shifting adjusted correctly and the hanger or derailleur isn't bent or loose - assuming this is corrct, it could be multiple causes but common ones that come to mind:
1. Make sure B-tension is set correctly so that there is enough clearance
2. Make sure...
Update - snapped a picture the other day of my LSS with Al cog with about 500 miles on it - it looks pretty darn good showing very little wear so far - I have gotten into the habit of blowing it out with compressed air between most rides just like I do with my brake pads - of course no way to...
Is it just the chain that will wear faster or will the lower quality chains actually wear the cogs much faster? (assuming of course you change the chain before it over-stretches?)
I like this wide range 8-speed concept but the splined Shimano driver body is a deal breaker for me - I used to gouge the hell out of those things on pedal bikes - I can only imagine what the torque of an Ebike will do to them - IMO Sram xD driver is such a better design
It makes sense with all the power and torque we put on these things, but I find i'm wearing through my drivetrain way faster on my Levo than my pedal bikes, especially the chain - these KMC Ebike chains seem to be pretty crappy - and I keep my drivetrain meticulously clean and lubed with...
Not sure exactly what you mean by "cable outer"? Are you referring to the actual metal cable or the housing around the cable?
Changing out the metal cable only should be very easy and take a couple minutes - but changing out the housing can be very tricky - this is because it needs to route...
