It really is a simple thing to do, same with the electrical blanking grommet on this thread, costs pretty much nothing but does the job!

I have indeed, you can improve this buy using some P section draft excluder to help seal the gap. See pic A few have done this ( me included) and it works well.

Just a quick tip/hack for a little extra protection around the key entry point on the frame. I've used a 16mm electrical blanking grommet and cut a slit for key access. It should minimise water ingress out on the trail in this area.

Thanks @Stihldog, for me I’m 90% in eco so don’t really constantly swap modes. In addition I don’t really use walk mode. I’m fully aware it won’t suit everyone but suits me and that’s all that matters!

Cheers@KennyB, I’m swapping the mech as well, I just don’t want to have to mess about with the outer cable sheath on the bike. I was thinking I could pull out the existing inner and thread my new GX inner cable through. A little bit of tape on the cut end stops the cable fray on the analogue...

Thinking of swapping the SX shifter on my Rail 5 to a GX. Can the cable inner simply be threaded through the existing outer routing in the bike and pop out at the right place?....or is the job more painful?

Honestly @Banktramp Certini cycles service has been incredible. I told them of the TCU issue on Friday and the part was with me before 9 on Sat morning!!!!!! Outstanding!
