I want the real numbers not flattery!
Yeah I did the marathons a year ago and spent the last 12 months getting divorced after my wife had an affair with a friend (still is in fact...) so I basically drank and ate loads, put on 15KG.
I couldn't have gone from no riding at all to doing 50K per...
I've also been a very keen airsofter (expensive kit, numerous injuries...), a PC power gamer (£1K GPU) and a photographer (just, silly money).
It's funny, and I mean this nicely, I don't see women spending this sort of money on their hobbies as much....
TBH I had a Garmin smart watch and heart monitor when I trained for 3 half marathons, the readings it gave me were identical to the apple watch so I decided I had been heading down a "Gear Hole" (we all do it!) and plumped for the apple watch alone.
Turns out that this is way more complicated than I hoped it would be. However I do have a solution :)
Calories logged via 3 different methods are VASTLY different. I had a 24K commute home last night and I recorded it in 3 different simultaneous ways:
- Strava, via their app - 1,194 calories
-...
Actually both TBH.
The topeak rear was the one that snapped, although until then it seemed to be doing ok (maybe mine had a manufacturing flaw). The front Topeak is also good, although too close to the battery really where it rubs.
The mucky nuts were just terrible. So flimsy they never sat...
So I’m not doing too well with these mudguards.
The muckynutz just never fitted properly or stayed out so they are going back.
The Topeak fitted better, but not great AND when I caught the rear one on my bag today after 4 rides, it snapped so they are going back as badly designed as well :(...
Looks like technology in the bike world is massively accelerating at the moment. What super awesome smart stuff have you seen that's any good and what does it work with?
I'd pay huge money for a helmet with lights, a camera(s), bone induction speakers, hands free calls and a music / phone...
Nope, it's an iphoneX and entirely made of glass, but, life's for living, I don't worry about it too much. It's in a Quadlock case and perches merrily on the front of the bike ready to be smashed to smithereens should I crash in some specific way.
Bike's worth more than the phone! Nah I'm not worried, they're always insured anyway and they get to go in a big strong case. I'd happily pay serious money for a better computer, that was in my phone and had all the features they seem to list in the cobi !
