Question for anyone using their garmin and power display:
Does power show my power, the bikes power, or both combined?
Im wanting to use my bike for training base miles (cause its more fun than 4 hr road rides) and want to make sure Im doing enough work.
If anyone has experience or tips I'd...
Yep, my SL went that route too. 170z1, cascade link, 275 r wheel w/ 2.5 tire (high mode), cut spacer off stock dps shock, its a blast.
One thing I will note os full on DH tires really mute the SL motor. If doing it over Id go for a full power motor.
rumors abound of a kenevo sl based on enduro...
No need to drop the motor.
you'll need to remove the rear wheel, unbolt the chainring, then chainstays. The hose is fairly simple. Internal riuting is a no brainer, through chainstays, pull back stays from frame, then run hose up the middle hole out and it pops out the front. Make sure the hose...
new stumpy looks pretty good. Hope theres a frame only option!
--- Back to SL...
Only had mine at 170 fork (44 offset) and havent had anything but good handling. Its in high mode and STA is slack - so I can see the negatives to going 27.5 rear.
the 2nd negative on 27.5 rear is losing the...
I wouldnt trust 1200g wheels on anything off road myself at 185lbs.
its only money. If you try id like to hear how they hold up long term. My pov is likely jaded from breaking carbon hoops at enduro races and being salty about crappy results from broken parts.
I was thinking the same.
specialized is a pretty smart org. Chances are the investment wouldnt impact sales enough to justify it.
Kenevo expert would be a blast at an EWS event. I might even make the cutoffs for stages ?.
I use this and set up a couple of profiles. One where Im making the acceleration, another where the bike works for easy recovery days.
For just having fun the stock settings felt good to me.
That said, I wouldnt mind more torque as an option. Im sure the next gen bikes will have it. Not my...
Im on a 50mm stem, 30mm rise bars at 750 width & 170 44 offset fork (slacker front).
6' even, longish wingspan for my height.
Stem should be close to fork offset. If your on 51 id stick between 40-60.
bar width has two considerations:
1) conmfortable width for your tree gates
2) body position...
Renthal are really good. Flatter sweep. Broke a pair of FB carbon lights, but carbon dh have handled everything Ive thrown at em.
I'd look at Deity (stiffer, more sweep and oneup (Flexier more sweep) as well. They all have a bit different personality. Try some for an actual ride if you can...
Almost went for a heckler as well. Landed on a levo sl.
Heckler handling was better, but I live in a flat place and overpowering the shimano motor was like the bike just slowly entered a sand pit. Dont want to mess with deristricting, but do want to go past 20 on my own.
It looks like we're...
Hows it feel pedaling with no assist compared to the Brose and the SL motors?
Enjoying my SL but ride with power off alot. Wouldnt mind the option for more power and stil be able to ride analog untill im gassed. For reference, can get up well over 20mph on the sl stock on flat ground.
when I...
boredom has me looking to mullet the SL.
looking at a 216x63 used shock to get a feel for it trying to keep geo similar to as is now (170 fork and high shock position).
do you have to use the kenevo Link and wishbone/extender to clear frame?
math looks like i could pop on the 216x63 and...
Can see how I was misleading.
The additional wattage helps for sustained effort - definitely. Even lowest amount of assist helps there.
Also need to eat some crow after a ride this morning. It helps more than I’m giving it credit for and I’m realizing the motor programming is so good you start...
agree w/ above.
Biggest advantage of X2 is if you knowexactly how you want your bike to feel AND know how to use all the adjustments to get there (or using a shockwiz or equivalent).
you can trim the alloy down to close to 40#’s with smart parts selection.
before you pull the trigger think of parts you want to run.
If it’s lightweight trail parts SL is the bike.
if it’s DH tired and inserts and coil shocks I’d go full turbo (not SL). Mines built in the middle and needs to...
the radius is bigger, so you have more leverage on the wheel.
the distance you move is longer, but easier to move.
think of stem length for a comparison. If you have your front wheel wedged between to 20kg stone on left and right, and you try to turn your bars to move the stones. Which is...
