I have fitted a 230 x60mm x2 to my rail 5. The standard non trunnion one. All the mountings from the rockshox shock can be swapped over to the x2 including the bushes. The bolts straight in.
We did Morzine earlier this year. Sent 8 ebikes in the van with 2 riders and everyone else flew in. To be honest there was no point taking an ebike. We even booked a ebike guide and you’re still going to put them on a lift. One issue you get is that every down hill track in the area probably...
To be clear, My LBS Ridgeway Cycles in Wantage are the ones that treat me so well. Didn’t even buy the Trek from them but get 1st class treatment anyway. I would have brought it from them but they couldn’t get one when I was shopping. The online supplier may have been fine but I didn’t need to...
The Wheels on trek Trek 5 did not have tubeless rim tape fitted as standard so you’ll need some tape as well as sealant. The stans kit works well and has everything you need. The Bontrager tyres work fine with sealant. They were a right pain to actually mount on the wheel compared to maxxis. I...
My experience has been excellent. Brought my Rail from an online supplier as the LBS (Trek dealer, Ridgeway Cycles Wantage) didn’t have one. When I had issues with the power dropping out they carried out 3 visits to fix it for free, quickly. At 3000 miles when my Motor died they had a new one...
Mine was exactly the same, flat sections with short sharp bumps like roots would trip it out, slow speed bumps like ramps and drops wouldn't trip it. Alignment plate sorted it.
I had the same 'tripping off' issue on the Trek rail 5 (feb2021), it just turned itself off/on over bumps and when fault codes were read, it comes up as 'power disconnection fault'. Tried the alignment procedure a couple of times, bike shop tried it, bike shop replaced wiring loom recommended...
I’m running the XR4 tubeless. 400 miles with no issues. Set up using Gorilla clear repair tape, Bontreger valves and Stans sealant. Even with some hefty tyre flex after running at 10 psi (after puncture) it didn’t pop off. They seem ok for a summer trail tyre.
