Not sure if this has been already posted, it has more info, I didn't see it in the thread.
France bans illegal eMTB tuning with fines up to € 30,000 | E-MOUNTAINBIKE Magazine
I'm glad no one bothers us in the US.
No one will check because it doesn't matter. It's apparent that the organizers don't know too much about ebikes or the Class 1 laws. They don't state the 750w limit is peak power, and everyone treats it as nominal so any 250w emtb is way under that, no matter what it really is.
I've ridden both. There isn't anything in the US like the alps and nothing in Europe like Moab. I think everyone should ride in Moab at least once, but the alps have far more mileage and better after riding fun. Considering the current climate for emtbs in Moab, I'd suggest the alps and come...
Not quite. In the EU it is "cycles with pedal assistance which are equipped with an auxiliary electric motor having a maximum continuous rated power of 0.25 kW". Max power and max continuous power are two very different things. Max power could be tested, but max continuous power is a figure...
It won't be as much of an advantage in an Enduro unless it helps you to recover more in the transfers. In an XC race where you win or lose on the climbs, more power will be a big factor.
There aren't specs for testing the "max continous output" Which is why we have motors on the market like...
If who wins on what bike with what motor begins to matter, I'm curious as to how far the manufacturers will push power and torque while still claiming it's a 250w motor with a straight face.
I see bikes like that all the time in the US, walking the streets in NYC you have to keep your head on a swivel, restaurants use them for delivery and they haul ass.
If you break a 10 year old Specialized frame and want a replacement, they're not going to trudge to the back of a huge warehouse and dust off one from the stack they keep just in case. They don't keep backstock like that. In the best case scenario, they're going to offer you a small discount on...
In every pack I own stuffed down in the bottom of the hydration pocket I carry zip ties, toilet paper, a lighter with duct tape on it, a fire starter, two big garbage bags and first aid supplies. I use packs on longer rides and hikes and the more remote the trip, the more gear I bring along...
Exactly. Once the disparity in human competitors starts to level out, the best motor will win. The motor rules are so fuzzy right now that unless everyone is on the same bike it's basically an exhibition and not a race.
Clean chamois every ride. Use chamois cream, or a topical anti fungal cream while riding. Chamois cream has antifungal in it, but other things to help reduce chafing and irritation. There are plenty of DIY recipies if you don't want to spend a ton of cash on a little tub of it. On long road...
But..but.. you get to beta test a completely new drive system too... that went well last time. Give it a year or two, you’ll have other lightweight choices from other manufacturers at lower prices.
