Shimano linkglide. Designed to LAST.
Has 10 and 11 speed versions, thicker cogs on full steel 11-50 (might be less in 10sp) cassette, for HG hub body. Cassette weighs about 150g more than GX.
Full transmission costs less than single sram cassette. Shifts quiet and under load, bit slower shifting...
Ext calc shows me 500 for your weight for 30% sag, you sure input is correct?
I started on voima at exact same weight as you with 600 spring. It’s a bit too stiff but still very nice.
Now I’m 105kg at 500 spring, it’s a bit too soft but I’m going to slim down more soon.
For your weight I’d aim...
0 tokens installed, 2 in part box.
2023 zeb ultimate.
I find mid stroke support amazing tokenless on my particular fork, no bottom outs yet too, and I’m kinda heavy.
Has anyone tried asking a trek dealer what part enables all that (mech powered with ebike battery via wire)?
I know some trek online dealers sell a cable that connects derailleur to so called AXS smart box, but it looks to be TQ/EXE specific.
If possible I would like to simply get whatever trek...
Ext calc is close to truth maybe add 25 for very aggressive riding, suspension lab might be onto something as well.
Also remember - you get 2 springs with ext shock! I’d get 400 and 375 if I was 80kg. More aggressive riding might call for 425 and 400.
Certainly skip calculators giving you 500...
Just got a confirmation from Chris from Pole that Voima in K4 is discontinued due to low order numbers and low interest. They say more people prefer shorter ride on Voima.
This doesn’t affect other bikes like Vikkela though. It’s just Voima specifically.
Makes me a bit sad because I like my K4...
My K4 is about right, i measured 1370mm (claimed 1368 on geo chart), 2mm difference is probably to imperfect angle.
Chainstay is exactly 455 as claimed, my bike came with updated ID rear with bolt on brake mounts, old LED front if that matters.
Can’t recommend dorado at all, unless you really like noodle twisting self-steering front end. Might be ok for lighter riders though. But if you are 90+kg or seek air time - I’d say avoid. Especially great if it shits oil on your brake, seen it happen couple of times with old 26” models.
I have full 22.2 bars with no thick middle part and tried running it near the stem, but still had mini remote at the grip. Worked fine, clamp is 22.2 only on led remote.
Also visionvelo have close-to-stem mounts too, for both 31.8 and 35mm bars, needed for regular bars.
As for modes - depends...
Slider/bashguard totally worth it. You don’t want to bash the motor. I like chainguide too. Rest up to you. Kiox300 is worthless pos.
As for led vs id - I HATE led controller with passion and I wish I waited for Id (it was announced like next day I ordered led).
But at least you can move it...
196cm, ~92cm/36" inseam, here on K4.
Running 30mm of spacers under stem and 75mm riser bars, very comfortable. 50mm riser worked too, but I like 75 better.
I’d totally say the same about non-electric 190mm bike. I made that mistake once too and had a 200/200 bike with no real mountains within 1000km. It was miserable and expensive. So I speak from experience.
But Voima is a bit special. It does not limit you with overbike, like a dh bike would...
Ultimate bike as a starter ahaha ;-)
Being overbiked matters less on e-bike, and especially on Voima, since it pedals so damn well, much better than most 160mm bikes. I would say get smaller size for milder terrain when deciding between 2 sizes to get more agile bike too keep things fun. Smaller...
We seem to be pretty similar in weight/height department. I would say look at 500-550.
I’m 240 bare, more kitted but not by much, on 600 spring and it’s good but I think 550 would be better for me.
I have 500 as well, it’s too mushy for me and over 35% sag. Need to loose another 20-30lb before...
You can get them off with film too, so it works both ways.
Idk, maybe pole used to apply those under film before, mine are thick, textured precisely cut letters with no backdrop applied on top. I think a warm-up with a hairdryer and they will come off easily.
Black POLE decals on my storm grey Voima are applied on top of factory protective film. I can feel the edge with my fingernail, it’s certainly on top of the film, not under.
Badges are also applied on top. Each badge has a thin film on it’s own, the kind you want to peel of asap.
I’m just an inch taller than you and on K4, there’s no problem loading the front end even with very high rise bars (3”). Neither seated nor standing, at all. It’s freaking 4.5cm longer wheelbase at play. And lifting front on demand became somewhat easier, but still it’s a heavy ass long ass...
