I don’t really care for the largely pointless tech, but the actual frame changes sound to pretty much cover my issues with the old Rail (between sizes).
If only Bosch could improve their integration, they would clean up.
The Factory & Performance Elite versions of the ‘21 Float X2‘S are really nice shocks, with a good range of adjustments. They really don’t like the side loading that Spec & other bike brands put them under though. They are almost built to a too high a tolerance so if there is ‘any’ misalignment...
£12k. On a bike with an off the shelf EP8 system, when you can buy an almost identical specification bike from another brand, for literally half the price. 🤦♂️
It’s not even like you are getting the ‘premium’ support network, with Yeti’s legendary abysmal customer service (which I have...
WTB only make 2 good tyres, but they are really good (if you can get them).
Verdict/Verdict Wet on the front is decent & the Judge is a great rear tyre. The rest, no.
I’ve got a few of the MaxxGrip Shorty V2 in 29. Just put one on the front of the eeb for racing last weekend as it was wet & loose. Can confirm it grips very well. Will put another on the leg bike soon when the weather properly turns.
Matched to a DH casing DHR2 in MaxxTerra on the back, which...
That's because it's a used shock from another bike which comes with a bearing mount, rather than a standard eyelet.
IIRC RockShox need to go back to a service centre to have the lower part swapped to a normal eyelet mount (so you can run a standard bush). Which means a service, and some parts...
I think for your more ‘normal’ UK enduro races (without weird uphill stages) then it would be less of an issue. I would certainly not discount one for racing.
However, I am going to do an EWS E or two next year as a different experience to a normal EWS, which would be pretty much impossible on...
It's a satin paint finish.
I'm taller than you (just) and I ride an S4.
I'm on the cusp of an S4/S5, but would always size down on an ebike. I'm not a evangelist of long bikes anyway, having down a reasonable amount of testing & timing - anything above ~490mm reach starts to make me slower so...
Erm, the Float X (and the new DHX) are both mono tube designs. The Float X2, DHX2 & the DPX2 are all twin tube design.
The Float X has no more adjustment over the DPX2. To expect it be massively different is hugely unlikely, given most reviews have claimed it’s a like for like replacement...
The Rail does have a bit of heft to it, I can see why it felt different for sure.
The KSL is lighter, I used the stock Expert as an example, which was 19kg with pedals, put some decent tyres on it, its 20, which was only 3kg less than my Levo.
Personally 22/23 seems to be fine, my Rail was...
Tried one (repeatedly). Need to try another without the wobbly Roval wheels & shyte Specialized tyres. Rear linkage looks as much of a liability as my Enduro was. That thing went through bearings like a champ and I was forever chasing creaks. Not designed for the UK, at all.
Stupid seat tube is...
Agree with all of that. Coupled with Yeti’s legendary dog turd reliability & support. I can’t think of a brand I’d be less likely to give money to.
And yes, I’ve had the (dis)pleasure of having to deal with them & their distributor, having cracked more than one.
I came from a Bosch motor’d bike (Trek Rail) which was all round a really good bike. I had a fair few issues with mine surrounding the Bosch bits sadly, which was bloody annoying as it took an age to get dealt with as Bosch seem to import through some tin pot distributor.
Now have a ‘22 Levo...
My other half can Eco at Bike Park Wales and she topped out at just over 2000m vertical (66km distance).
Its a long old day though on the E8000 in Eco it’s only a little more assistance than riding a normal bike. I can climb at the same pace comfortably on the normal bike.
