I use to do this to all of my dirtbike swing arms, always had great luck with the 3M green and red scouring pads on an angle grinder. FWIW as a machinist we used toothpaste and denim for high polish finish on lathe work. I had mixed results using toothpaste with the red 3m pads, seems to work...
Of course doing so would void your warranty but who has dared to try to edge our a few more mm of travel?
My RM Powerplay Altitude came with a Bomber coil shock with a spacer to reduce the travel to 160 vs the shocks full stroke of 170 (on the bike).
The spacer on the bomber disintegrated and...
Its pretty easy so long as you have the correct BB tool to remove the retaining ring. Its a 16 notch for Shimano BBT-69.2/44mm centerlock. Got a cheap one from Amazon for $10.00.
As mentioned they are on eBay and many shops in the US and CA have them in stock if you goggle the PN.
Be aware...
Ugg had to buy another dropper post. I was planning to swap over the Rocky Mountain Toony post from my Powerplay to my acoustic Slayer but I managed to ruin it while removing.
I must say it was the oddest method of attaching a dropper cable I have encountered yet.
Oh well light at the end of...
I have run the same set of Hope Fotus 35/Pro 4 wheels on now 4 bikes over the last 3 years and they are fantastic. Replaced the DT Swiss wheelset on my last eMtb with the Hope wheels.
Chain reaction has the fortus with the Pro 5 hubs for L310.00 (L for British Pound sorry dont have that symbol...
A bit of necroposting but I am very curious as to how this has held up since posting in 2020. I have found exactly a 50/50 split between favorable and unfavorable reviews of the Prime 9 but on paper at least it does seem ideal for eMtb use.
In the US we only refer to underwear as Banana Hammocks. You should try to make that stick across the pond as well.
SoCal has been getting dumpped on but there are still dry places to ride. I imagine NorCal is just getting blasted right now.
Unfortunately I predict there will be so much...
Wondering what everyone's thoughts were for optimal characteristics of a eMtb drivetrain.
I have 10 or so rides on my RM Altitude PP and have yet to use the 3 tallest gears. The RM rides a bit different from my last eMtb which was a Tazer with the EP700 motor. On the Tazer I would occasionally...
Got the BB, Cranks and Pedals installed last night.
Not that there was any question but confirming once more that the 83mm spindle length version of the Atlas is a direct fit for this application.
No spacer needed there is a little take up on the non drive side which the preload ring will...
Just ordered a steel driver for my Hope Pro 4 hubs.
Swapping the OEM 11 speed Shimano to my Eagle 12 speed I noticed the aluminum driver is really chewed up. Steel should hold up much better for eMtb use.
I tend to favor Sram because I like the cage lock and I tinker with my bikes a lot so the rear tire if often removed.
I have not owned Shimano above the Deore line but generic comparison between Sram and Shimano is (IMO) Shimano shifts are a bit more positive feeling in the engagement of the...
Lost weight also. Before eMtb I would find excuses not to ride in winter and would only go to Big Bear (Chairlift) in summer.
What's odd is I can spend 4 hrs. at the pump track get completely smoked and go back the next day for more.
Tell me we are taking anolog bikes to the Luge (short but...
