At least 4 more announcements today based on emtb-news, so far only the crestline looks really appealing, out of my price range unfortunately.
23.5kg for the 800Wh in a 180/180mm package, definitely dream bike level!
Need to wait until monday to have the full picture:
1) Is the new bike much better?
2) Price differences
3) Time to release
That being said, it will be a shame to be receiving the older generation after the new is released unless you got 30-40% off in a sale.
Thy can still change the battery, it is just a longer process, that said a battery easily lasts 5 years (mine was abused over 10000km and still had over 80% health) so at that stage it's not guaranteed the brand will have spares to fit.
I know a guy who was testing the 800Wh Bosch battery on...
I would happily gamble on the DJI motor, but have some doubts on the AMflow, it's a pretty light frame so possibly more of a long legged trail bike than a proper all mountain or mini Enduro bike despite the good geo.
But mostly I have seen multiple comments from reputable suspension...
Depends which battery you ordered, it either makes almost no difference (750wh) or a small difference in weight (600wh).
We'll see on Monday of the motor itself is much different, all rumours point to no major changes except shape/mounting.
I have run the same EC 2.6 rear tyre on and off the last 2 years. 1.43kg in 27.5. It's the closest to indestructible a tyre can be. I have run this tyre with 1bar (15psi) and it holds up ok as the sidewalls are so thick (this wasn't on purpose, I usually runit around 1.5bar, vs 1.7 for normal...
If you can dodge the tax, and get the bike months/years earlier than the official release depending on your country then maybe. But that's an expensive gamble alright...
Think of all the uphill KOMs that you could have unchallenged in France...
The base model (Rail+ 5) is actually surprisingly well specced, I'd almost go for that one ahead of the 8 or 9.7 and just swap out a couple of things. But it comes with a 2A charger, for an 800Wh battery, not a deal breaker but that thing must take half a day to charge up!
On the one hand the range he got from the bike was weak enough (1000m up, 35km with 20% left), but on the other hand, I checked his strava to confirm the above stats, dude picked up half the KOMs in the area both up and down, good sign!
I had a similarish issue with a YT jeffsy frame where one of the frame bearings just fell out when I went to inspect it after 6 months. I sent a video, they told me to ship the bike back to them and they replaced the frame in under 2 weeks. That was a 2.5k bike. At 4-5 times the price, I would...

Very little talk about this bike. My local bike shop owner just got one as his personal bike. I was surprised as it is the first good looking BH bike I have seen.
Looked around on their site and a couple of reviews in french. It actually...
New Nicolai with Pinion gearbox announced for various motor efficiencies from a cargo bike test.
I guess it depends where you live, but here in southern France the weather is mostly dry, we don't bother riding when it's wet, temperature between 10-30 most of the year, riding big mountains, the...
I used to think that, but have changed my mind now, some motors do heat up a lot more than others and are quite a bit more inefficient than others, at least at max assistance.
For e.g. my Yamaha based Giant does 1600m climbing in max assistance with an 800Wh battery, whereas my riding group...
Sam is a bit less positive about the bikes descending capabilities and range. Would love to hear the range of the bike in trail mode as Steve Jones says it's comparable to many other bikes' top assistance.
Looking forward to hearing from Rob and his build weight.
