If you have bought the Strive :ON a month ago, ask for the 5% discount Canyon is now making within the model range.
It's only for those that bought a month ago (unfortunately!)
Cheers!
Sometimes product managers spec components outside of the product family (like your bike with KMC on Shimano) due to stock or contractual arrangements set previously.
Ask any engineer, and the best solution is not always the "more better" solution in terms of margins ;)
Once I had all Shimano...
Emtbeast,
Just a side note: Hyperglide+ is more the interface chain/cassete, with the chain being design to work in conjunction with the cassete.
Now, I don't know if KMC already has Hyperglide + chains, but if you're using a "simple" 12 speed chain, you're losing all that hyperglide+ "thing"...
There was an interview/podcast on the Linkglide, and had some opinions regarding the system.
Although I was all for the Linkglide (less gears, stronger, hg freehub, fair price), I stumbled on the interview/podcast, why PROs wouldn't use it on eEWS:
Initially was the lack of parts in case...
Yes, it's not new, and Yes it's around for quiet a while now!
But with all hype around Sram Transmission, and changing gears without taking out power, we quickly think it's the only option...but no!
Shimano with the Hyperglide plus, can and will change gears without any flaw up and/or down...
Spoiler alert - I was suprised and like the DB8
Just an initial words, to clarify anyone:
POWER
Power for me, is being able to block the wheels from turning, when amd where I want. So for me power is that force that permits skids (front or rear) when I think about it.
Any GAP between ...
Interesting posts and opinions.
I suppose I'm in the group that agrees that emtb can help you get fit, but (BUT), it all comes down to what are you willing to suffer.
From my short experience with Emtbs compared with bikes, ebb can make you lazy, or faster.
Why lazy?
You just let the bike push...
From Shimano site (SHIMANO HYPERGLIDE+ | SHIMANO BIKE-US)
"No need to pull off the gas or time an easy pedal stroke with your shifts. Hammer away and count on HYPERGLIDE+ for flawless shifts so you can keep accelerating without hesitation"
I started doing as above, and to my suprise, it...
Personally I don't set suspension by a "cheap" shock pump (a little better than Canyon's), since I don't rely on the gauge (not digital).
I prefer to use physical markers (zipties), and set according to feeling and maintaining geometry on a big slope.
For example, fork has ± 15psi more...
Almost like my rides. +/- 38/40 km and 1600/1700m, +/- 17km/h avg.
I normally ride eMTB, with some climbs @TURBO, and complete the ride with less than 5%
Weight ~ around 86kg (naked)
As already asked, what's the difference betweem AUTO and eMTB?
Personally, I don't find any harder putting my ebike without battery on the roof, than my Freeride bike (tiping the scale @17.5kg).
Being 6', capable of overhead press +50kg, helps a lot.
That and the cars being low(no SUVs or MVPs)
Have rear carrier, but presently no car with hitch, so I need...
You said it all:
"I had thule upride. Well done roof rack but I would not put an e-bike there without securing it with straps to handlebars. "
The problem with hitch ball racks, is if you have multiple cars, you're limited where you can go/which car you take. (which hitch ball is around 400€!)...
