fwiw, I had some connection issues but put a small amount of conductive grease on the terminals (different to non conducting dielectric grease) as a quick fix around 6 months ago and it's been fine since.
I used this stuff
Maybe it will reduce arcing and wear??
edit - not sure if amazon link...
The motors take into account all sorts of factors to put out the maximum power, including the gradient.
Are all those taken into account when the power is measured to meet the 250w limit?
I'd guess that on the flat, at maximum 15.5mph assist speed, they'd all be using less than 250w. Maybe...
I was thinking about this the other day as I took magnet off when chaning the valve.
I think the rim magnet is oriented so north-south is tangential to the wheel.
In which case, I think you'd need two coils, a longer one running up/down (as if coiled around the seapost), one running...
I wonder if this is similar to
https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/product-highlight/a/allegro-microsystems/a1334-high-resolution-programmable-angle-sensor-with-spi-interface
It seems to have a very high sample rate. Could that be why the solution by @megabobra does not work? I have not checked the...
I've cancelled my Flow+ for reasons emtbPhil mentions. Too irritating to be useful!
Also, if my bike does get nicked I don't think I fancy going around to whoevers nicked it and attempting to get it back. I can't see that going so well... I have 0% confidence the police would do anything even...
It's a rim magnet. There is no reliable way of derestricting. There have been attempts to simulate the magnet with an electromagnetic coil (megabobra on this site) but it doesn't work at the moment. The hall sensors inside are doing more than a simple reed switch and they are measuring the shape...
I can understand the bike lock being behind the paywall as it costs Bosch money to run the servers and stuff for tracking. Think it uses the phone network?
..BUT putting the rider stats and navigation features behind a paywall is ridiculous! These bikes cost a fortune and now there's a monthly...
That is terrible from Canyon. What if you want an extra battery for uplift days or long days out?
Isn't the same battery used in the Torque ON as well?
I'd push for a refund.
I've been looking into the Bosch stuff.
The DiagnosticTool v8.1.6.0 for their older non-smart stuff is available on their website but it won't work without a dongle.
http://bosch-ebike-updates.com/data/DiagnosisSoftware/Update/Setup.exe
It's written in java and it's possible to decompile...
I'm considering one of the discounted Tero X bikes with the Brose motor (I think).
Am I right in thinking that using a dongle can be detected by Specialized and you lose the warranty?
I think we're just reverting to a more normal level of depreciation after covid supply/demand issues.
There's a huge amount of maintenance costs with MTB's imo. Bikes are usually worth a lot less than people think, especially if they need full bearing change, fork, shock service, with ebikes...
I was thinking of giving this a go, but looking at the most recent comments, looks like it doesn't work, is that right? Does it cause an error?
I'm not sure if you've tried yet, but I was wondering if instead of a fixed multiplier you could instead simulate a lower gear ratio so that the...
This is the grease I used
MG Chemicals 846-80G Carbon Conductive Grease, 80g Tube, Black https://amzn.eu/d/0e2OZseZ
It's different to dielectric grease
Mine has started cutting out more now as well. It has the new latch design. I usually leave the battery in and i don't use a jew wash or hose, mostly just leave it dirty!
Started intermittently losing power at about 700 miles ish, now it's stuttering even on smooth trails and switching off...
I own the Strive ON.
If I was buying again, I'd get the Levo.
Strive on had the cracked battery mount issue, then after that was fixed it kept cutting out. Had to get sent back to Canyon which was a pain. They had it for nearly 2 months, and when they sent it back, all they'd done was change...
Impressive specs indeed, but what I really want is NOT more power, lighter weight, and reduced size, but simply a motor that can be repaired!! How does it comapre on that front?
It doesn't matter how well it's been built, eventually seals around the axle will fail, water gets in, then bearings...
I think they'd be better on balance or pedal bikes, but it depends where they are going to be used.
I saw some kids with these at a BMX / pump track. They didn't really suit the track at all and the kids kept falling off. The parents had also put a full face on these poor kids as well, which...
