I can't see any evidence that this is the case as they also piss off bike manufacturers who if this is the case will swap types of motor used.
I think this is forum over reaction and warrantee replacements will be available.

Reminds me of my old T130, point it downhill and go, gives great confidence and I seem to be going to fast for my years. The rear triangle seems a little small with not a great deal of clearance with just a 2.5 on, I’d like a bit more mud clearance.
The Bosch does not whine, its a different noise which to be fair I've not really noticed the motor noise when riding, I've also not noticed any knocking on rough terrain.
Power wise it seems a lot stronger and faster to respond, I was on a step hill the over day and had to move to a flatter...
Which is exactly as the Bosch upgrade is acting, however it needs an update to make it responsive on technical elements rather than full on, it really needs a technical mode for when do don’t want all that power.

Mine seems to do it in all modes, but that does not seem to be the feedback others are providing, I going to chat with my LBS and see if they can reload it and if the issue I'm seeing is consistent with other bikes.
I've just moved from a Shimano E8000 to the new Bosch on a Whyte and it has 1.1.0.0.
It is really powerful but I'm finding I have a really bad overrun issue, on slow technical elements I can peddle and back off but the motor will continue to power for 1-2 seconds, its so bad the bike actually...
