I cannot imagine doing any of that ride on a hard tail... Hope to see you there guys- I am waiting for a replacement brake lever from Germany :cautious:
I thought I would just add a few comments to this thread.
I went along to the Saturday ride for some jumps/drops experience- I did explain I was a complete beginner beforehand.
I loved Simon's no nonsense approach- about 8 of us headed straight off and straight into some pretty hairy stuff...
Hey all- I just wanted to shout out a big thanks for a great ride, great company, great location and I learned absolutely loads. Thanks to Neil and Rhys for the local knowledge and Rob for making it happen and keeping an eye on me when I looked a bit sketchy - I am pleased I managed to stay in...
Lots of lovely scenic places to ride near me but its a mix of fire roads, mixed use trails, and single track rather than dedicated bike trails (as far as I know). Agreed lets get xmas sorted...
Thanks Rob- see you there
And Markymark- I am based near Hindhead down the A3 but happy to travel to Swinley anytime, and further afield if work allows. Very keen to ride and learn mate so drop me a line anytime you are up for it :)
Hey guys- I think I might be the most inexperienced rider tomorrow. I can handle the blues at Swinley and Cannock Chase (which is supposed to be red but it seemed less challenging than Swinley blue trails to me) but I don't feel confident about going beyond that level. Is that going to be a...
But I am very tempted by the Spectral:ON. I'd be sacrificing the battery size (500wh vs 700wh) but the price difference is huge and frankly I think the Spectral stealth looks better than the Turbo Levo (with 700wh)
Does anyone know how long delivery takes to the UK if the bike is 'from stock'?
Hey Rich I just wanted to add my thanks too to a brilliant write up and a useful summary of articles and observations. I started on the whole e-mtb journey only about 18 months ago and knew nothing about mountain bikes at the start so having spent some time on a tourer e-bike, a hard tail, and...
Hey there from another old guy on a Haibike :)
The wife and I will be staying with the in-laws in Cornwall (near Looe) over Xmas and I'll be desperate to get out for a ride- can you recommend a likely scenic route by any chance? Any tips, or a good starting point even, would be most welcome!
Many thanks for the reply mate, and I'll surely do that. We loved it in Joburg a couple of years ago and this time we want to explore the SA 'mediterranean'!
Hi there Lew- me and the wife are seriously thinking about a holiday in Cape Town in March 2019, and I wonder if you know a bike shop out there that will rent an Emtb by any chance?

Actually both feel pretty relaxed, and both have good front contact for steering and control. I thought about it a lot and I couldn't say one bike is better than the other, although they are different. I think the Trek is probably a bit more exciting for flats and downhill, and the motor has...
I have ridden both, and both are fantastic bikes. The smaller watt/hours of the battery on the Jam2 will hurt if you dont have the extra battery pack. That bike is really exciting on steep uphills (maybe the lower weight?) but that does mean that smaller battery gets a hammering. I was down to 1...
