    My shop just said "wiring harness"--I should have gotten more details. Stevo may well be correct

    Thanks, people-especially Gary If I carried a spare mech, I'd most likely need a spare cable, and maybe that micro allen to access the shifter cable window....

    In the old days (no E bike, hardtail) I'd just shorten the chain and ziptie the trashed derailleur out of the way and ride on. I think you can do a lot of damage if you do that to a suspended Ebike.... On another thread, Speedkills posted about using a singleator--see pic at end of post---which...

    IMHO flats require more skill and technique (that I sadly don't have) However a big advantage to clips is the easy extra horsepower that you can generate from your hamstring muscles on the upstroke.

    It's not bad and wider than it looks, but riding it the other way, going downhill, approaching the skinny, is much harder --usually walk overall, it's low risk, low consequence

    Point well taken. The 45 North tires are (I'm pretty sure) not tubeless compatible so I'm running the lowest pressure I dare put in the tubes--about 28psi

    Today with 2" of fresh in New England fat tires might have helped me up on steep hills that I spun out on with the 45 North studded tires. But that would mean an entirely different bike. Can anyone tempt me with a great fat tire electric bike? And we only have deep soft snow for a few days a...
