Hey guys I never said it was true I said I think! Personal opinion based on friends with derestricted vs others without. Expanding on the theory some people with derestriction get lazy shifting habits which puts more strain on the motor also.

Honestly i think alot of people derestrict the motors and this causes belt wear which is the most common failure. I've read people without derestrictions motors lasting alot longer. Specialized do offer transferable warranty, and should cover motor replacements for 2 years from sale, i believe.

I’ve gone between the exe and the new SL (on which one to get) I got a very good local spesh dealer, and the trek is still quite heavy it seems. I also see a lot of people don’t get very good range out the trek. Think it’s best to wait and see how the sl is in real life before deciding.

I’m thinking and kind of hoping that the Levo sl sales pitch will be it’s quieter. Like many others I enjoyed the SLs power and thought the battery lasted well. However it’s noise was horrendous, hopefully we get to see it next month or sooner. Would love just a clear shot to see what we’re...

I might be wrong but I think a lot of this happens from people catching it a few times and weakening the plastic when it’s charging. Mines been fine and I’ve had a lot of crashes and the bikes wearing some scars 😂

No issues with my door so far, year of ownership..ride pretty hardcore stuff and have had a few big offs!

Cancelled my order! Motor issues have me a bit worried. Will stick with my levo for winter see how things are looking next year.
