The Highly Anticipated And Much Awaited Ride At Cannock If Only We Can Find A Date We All Agree On And It Isn't Chucking It Down.

I'm interested in this ride, is it open to anyone? I have a Focus Jam2 so I'm a little worried about my range.

    Forestry commission discovery pass

It would be a great idea if they offered discounts for purchasing multiple passes but they don't. In the past I've had passes for a couple of locations, one of which was for Cannock Chase which also covered Hick's Lodge for £40 both fairly close to me. but a couple of years ago they split the...

    Software update.

I've just updated mine today via my laptop and the shimano interface, I've also done it in the past via the mobile app. I'm not sure what has changed, nothing visually.

    Shimano E8000 speed vs Garmin?

Today I connected my laptop up to my Focus Jam2 via the SM-PCE1. I used the Etube software as the interface to access the bike details etc. As I thought the settings you can change are the same as via the phone app. You can however get more details from the bike as seen in Shauns post earlier...

    Shimano E8000 speed vs Garmin?

I've been looking through the manuals for the etube software and I can't see anywhere to change wheel diameter, if fact other than diagnostics I can't see anything you can do in the pc software that you can't do via the app.

    Shimano E8000 speed vs Garmin?

My Garmin can be set up by wheel circumference for each bike. The way I usually do this is by putting a blob of paint or grease etc on the tyre then rolling the bike in a straight line and finally measure the distance between the two marks. I think this method is probably the best way to...

    Shimano E8000 speed vs Garmin?

Yes, sorry Shaun, If the signal is lost a straight line will be inserted once the signal is regained. Peaky rider, GPS devices and phones will track you through most forests fine.

    Shimano E8000 speed vs Garmin?

No, I do pretty much all of my riding within forests (Coed Y Brenin, Cannock Chase, Llandegla, Nant Y Arian to mention a few) and it tracks fine, For best results you need to set the Garmin to 1 second recording. The default is smart recording, fine for road use where you're travelling in one...

    Shimano E8000 speed vs Garmin?

I would expect a stand alone GPS device such as a Garmin would be far superior to any phone based app if set up correctly. Most Garmin devices can take a reading every second but phones are a reading maybe every 3 seconds or so to preserve battery life.

Invisiframe is it tricky to do yourself?

Doesn't helitape have a yellowy tinge to it, or go yellowy over time.

Invisiframe is it tricky to do yourself?

Didn't really need to remove the wheels but I think I may of. It helps if you are willing to cut any cable ties on the brake and shifter cables then refix them afterwards. I used Johnsons baby shampoo as I think you need a neutral ph soap. just keep your hands and the frame slightly wet. I used...

Invisiframe is it tricky to do yourself?

I didn't use a bike stand, just turned the bike upside down.

Invisiframe is it tricky to do yourself?

I've done it to a couple of bikes now and I thought it was pretty simple, I used the method with soapy water as it allows you to re position the film if needed then just use the supplied squeegee and work from the middle out.

    Turning the crank backwards

Turn the rear wheel backwards with the bike in a stand or upside down.

What power settings are you using?

Hopefully shimano will change it but I'm not holding my breath. If it can be done with a dongle and other manufacturers have it in their app and much more, I don't see why Shimano can't do it. After all something like that could sway customers and ebike manufacturers to go with another brand.

What power settings are you using?

Sorry, I thought you meant you need the dongle to change any assist levels until you edited your post to include eco. I do wish shimano would let us adjust the levels in increments of 1% without the need for us to buy a dongle. Just another way to get more money out of consumers I suppose.

What power settings are you using?

I think E13 is the error for movement of the pedals whilst initiating (powering up)

What power settings are you using?

You just need to connect your phone via Bluetooth to change the assist settings, no need for a dongle. There is an explorer, dynamic and custom the default settings for each are in the image I posted earier.
