I don’t have the Levo SL but have a Vado SL with the same SL motor. As well as a Fuel EXe.
The Trek motor is basically silent. The noise level of the SL motor never bothered me, but if someone is riding near you, they can tell it’s an e-bike. With the Trek, there’s no motor noise to give that...
Couldn’t have said it better.
I have very sensitive hands and arms, and have found 2 things have really helped.
A carbon bar that is compliant (many are not and are too stiff). The OneUp bar has a great reputation in this regard and the folks at my LBS rave about it. I purchased the E-bar...
Welcome! I got into biking because of the Specialized Turbo Vado SL. Now I will be picking up my new e-mtb very soon!
Congrats on the Levo SL. I’m not surprised you love it. :)
Another vote for:
- Carbon bars that are known to be compliant like those OneUp ones (some are very stiff, including some Deity bars, and would be counterproductive); or thinner carbon bars (31.8mm) that are known to be compliant;
- and grips like the Ergon ones;
Together, they solved my hand...
I do like black as much as I like blue. But I picked the Deep Smoke color for mine. (I likely will be keeping mine stock, but have already started suggesting upgrades to my husband for his. :LOL: )
Isn’t Giant the world’s largest bike manufacturer?
Might be a regional or country thing. There’s a good amount of Giant’s here. But like others said, they don’t have the brand cache of, say, Santa Cruz.
My husband’s first bike was a Giant which was a great value at the time for the price...
My husband recently got the blue 9.5. It looks great in person and the folks at our LBS thought the color was beautiful too.
The 9.5 model has 2 nice colors. :)
Love this 9.5 thread by the way… giving me many ideas. Maybe too many, lol.
I had been monitoring the Rise reliability for a while as I had originally put myself on the list for one.
What I found was that, overall, they are pretty reliable. They had some issues (well documented on the forums) but every e-bike or new model of bike does.
I was searching for a second...
I started out with my regular phone (iPhone) and a quad lock mount. It’s remarkably stable. I top off my phone battery in my car going to and coming back from the trail. Also have a small portable battery charger with me if needed.
So far I haven’t found the need to buy a separate bike computer.
Really nice. Have an analog Scott as does the husband. We’re really happy with our bikes.
If I had a local dealer selling Scott e-mtb, it would have been on my list.
Couldn’t find any e-mtb to test during the pandemic.
But I own a Specialized Turbo Vado SL, and absolutely love the light weight and Specialized SL motor. Knew I wanted a lightweight e-mtb.
I wanted one for this spring and also wanted to buy from a local dealer, if possible.
Narrowed down to...
