I was just thinking about planning e-mtb trips for next year.
My husband and I would definitely rent if there were decent options where we travelled.
We both ride mid-powered e-mtb (Trek Fuel EXe’s)
I think we’d be fine with full fats but as I’m not tall (5’ 4”), it’s not been easy to find...
Interesting.
I recently bought my first (and now I’m assuming last) Nukeproof products from CRC. Since they entered administration.
I’ve received all packages now. The first delivery was very well executed. The 2nd and 3rd were from a different delivery company and were a little comical...
Longer travel than your Levo? It’s going to be relatively heavy…
Maybe consider a lightweight e-mtb? Their weights are getting closer to those of acoustic bikes.
I have a regular bike I love, but it’s a lightweight carbon race bike. It’s still a lot easier to climb hills on my “lightweight”...
Very helpful. I’ll be able to compare to the weights with the new Horizon Pro wheels.
Not sure if we’re going to get new tires to go with the new wheels or not. Well rated tires seem to be about the same weights as the stock Bontrager XR5 Team Issue ones…
Thanks for confirming weight. I’m assuming that’s quite a lot for aluminum wheels?
I saw that Mteam had indicated the wheels were the first things we should upgrade, so I bought some Nukeproof Horizon Pro’s on sale for the Hubby’s 9.5. Took a chance on CRC. Fortunately they arrived in Canada...
Freakin’ totally worth it, especially at that price.
The problems are no more frequent than for other e-mtb models.
My husband and I have a 9.5 and 9.7.
I can feel very small differences in weight, angle, height, etc. I can tell if something is off by a degree or mm, just by looking at it.
My husband is the total opposite. Doesn’t notice / doesn’t affect him unless the changes are much more significant.
So I would say it depends if you tend to...
I don’t have a Levo but the first bike that made me love biking was a Specialized Turbo Vado SL.
It was a gem and ahead of its time (best electronic integration; very light; very smooth & natural feeling motor), and my LBS at the time thought highly of Specialized.
That first positive...
The grey one is the updated 2023 model.
The orange one is the last generation Stance E+
You can google “new 2023 Stance E+”, and see some videos on what’s changed.
P.S. The geometry has probably changed somewhat.
I think it depends on the bike. I don’t think all have easily removable batteries.
For my bike (Fuel EXe) for example, yes, you can remove the battery and just bring an extender battery, and fly with it.
Congrats!
I’m no expert but I’ve seen comments on this forum that support that a battery becomes more efficient after several charge cycles.
When I first got my Fuel EXe, I was a little worried about how fast my battery seemed to be draining. After only a few charges, however, there was...
Reliability can also depend on whether a new model / motor has just come out vs it’s been out a few years and has been continuously improved upon.
IMO, this is the best forum to find out more about potential problem spots of a particular model you’re interested in.
I love my Trek and I ride it most often in Eco mode. But there have been times I’ve wished for more grunt up steeper hills. I think Giant/Liv has introduced an innovative solution.
What made you chose the Elite over the 2023 Levo SL?
No, I bought a Fuel EXe in small. I meant, I bought it “sight unseen” :)
I find even small size e-mtb are hard to see in the flesh, never mind XS. (I’ve actually never seen an XS in person.) I suspect it’s market forces, but still a bit of a bummer for us shorter folk.
Congrats! And, yes, do keep us posted on your ride impressions.
Also don’t see a lot of XS size e-MTBs, so I find that cool. :) (I hardly ever saw even small sizes so bought my small sight unseen. Fortunately I fit.)
