a far easier and quicker solution is to take a spare chain with you, ready cut to size with a new masterlink. You then do not need to take a chain breaker with you and a decent one does not weight much less than a spare chain.....and the multi tool ones are invariably useless!!
I don't know what bike you have but apart from the short crank issue part of the problem with my bike is that it is a 180mm enduro bike with super plush suspension and heavy casing draggy tyres. All of which makes it an incredible gravity focused bike but less responsive on the flat. My wife's...
Firstly to clarify the terms ( as per @RustyIron did a bove) The post mount is integral to the fork leg. Mounted onto that you have a 40mm adapter....then the calliper bolted to the adapter. Your calliper is ( as you have sussed) mounted too high......at least half the width of the brake pad...
I was advised by Bosch that the only way to create "custom" modes for my/your generation Bosch system is by using the Nyon display and then paying for some addition to the Bosch E connect App. That enables 4 custom modes to be created and each can be created with different levels of motor...
I may be wrong but I believe the LN ratchets are for conversion of a pawl freehub on the 350 hub to a rachet system ( XD or microspline).
( pure conjecture but does LN stand for "long nose".....to take up the extra room required to fit the pawl system into the hub ring?)
If I am right you need...
very informative thanks. I think based on your info, it will be worth me getting the firmware checked and modified as required. I'm not worried a bout the Tour mode because this bike is only used as a gravity machine so it is not a mode I ever use!
thanks for your thoughts. A lot to answer there!!
1. By Gen2 I was referring to the Bosch System not the motor generation. Gen2 is the system before the Smart System was introduced.........sorry if that confused. So yes it is Bosch CX Gen4
2. The motor was orginally 75nm and I had the firmware...
So a few things from my experience of it that may help you.
Flow needs to be running on the phone permanently open in background and connected to the bike
So phone gps and Bluetooth must be permanently on.
Flow needs to be excluded from apps put to sleep by the OS on the phone
Possibly....the...
I very rarely use Flow.............my attitude on the various Apps connected to bikes is use them once to set up what you want on the bike ( ride profiles etc) then leave them alone. I have never updated a bikes software using an app.........if it works leave it alone!
Initially having used Flow...
Sad to hear mate. I hope all goes well. Fantastic to have a professional MD on here to help answer questions. My only advice is dont accept delays in tests etc...if necessary go private.
This must a familiar problem for lots of folks who have a bike they would like to sell in order to upgrade ec but second hand prices mean it would be a painful decision to take.
I have a slightly different take on it. I have a fantastic bike that is playing second fiddle to a newer bike and...
There are too many variables to predict range but the 700w/h is certainly capable of a lot more range than the previous 500w/h.
As far as the bike is concerned a lot depends on what price you are paying. If less than £5k I would rate it as reasonable value for money and rideable out of the box...
with hindsight I believe there is one scenario that might create such a noise in the head tube. If one of the bearing cups is no longer bonded to the headtube I guess it might make that sort of sound......I am sceptical however since the frame of your bike is carbon and the noise sounds like...
yes thanks for your reply. I made an enquiry with Bosch and they said the same thing. The Smart motor is smaller and may not fit a frame designed for the older gen2 motor....despite the motor being essentially the same.
So all you can do is measure both the inner and outer diameter and the width. Also note any angled faces ( it is usual for at least one face of each bearing to have an angled face e.g. 45 degrees etc.) Use that information to search on a bearing supplier website. If all else fails, just use a...
Any GPS device can give errors but I would have thought you could see where the extra mileage was recorded on the track in your Garmin. Often the error is caused by GPS changing satellite then reverting to the original satellite.....but you should see a spike on the track if that happened.
As per the video a couple of posts above, there are different quality rotors and rotors also wear...........maybe you were just unlucky with the rotors you were using. If you are in a situation ( like the one you described!) where the brakes are being really tested, take some advice from the...
