Will be my next bike if the 1st year's reliability turns out ok. 240w is pretty much perfect for me, as is the expected range.
Better start saving now.....
I doubt I'd change as the ROI when chopping between ebikes is not good, and the difference in enjoyment between a 160mm/24kg eMTB and a 140mm/22kg eMTB is likely to be minimal.
The only exception would be to check out something like the Lapierre eZesty which, at 18kg, is getting a lot closer to...
Looks like Continental are throwing their hat in the central motor/gearbox ring....

ETA: that was quick, wasn't there this morning!:
I would probably want to speak to the designing engineer at Focus before swapping anything. I can imagine that higher rated cells have less room for expansion, and/or are designed for low loads than our bikes have. Ambient operating temperature ranges from 0C to 35C, for me at least, which would...
It’s very easy getting the battery out (20 mins careful work) but, as @steve_sordy points out, you do need to be careful with how the cables go back. The cables seem very long, and sometimes don’t want to stay in the right place when refitting the battery. A bike stand with a rotating head can help.
Clips on everything, but set loose on the eMTB. I just can't get on with separating from the bike over jumps, was going to end in tears if I carried on with flats!
ETA: all my pedals are actually dual-sided, but I use SPD shoes for everything except work/pub rides so spend 95% of my time...
Undoubtedly. Mass centralisation and less exposure to dirt/damage. Good to see that has a gates belt drive too, I love the one on my Cannondale.
That said, the HD pictured above has to be one of the least attractive ebikes ever made, so maybe let's wait until someone sensible has designed one!
Romping around the Dordogne with mine this week, would hate to be without it. £250 for one is a bargain, tempted to buy another for those ultra-long rides but not looking forward to riding with one on my back...
I'm just discovering this after about 8 months of blissful maintenance-free waxed chain loveliness, my chain has all of a sudden started rusting after every ride. I'm using the bike daily at the moment, so no major issue with a little discolouration, but I'd really like some advice on how to set...
I replaced my dropper cable last weekend by taping the new one to the old one and pulling it through. Worked perfectly, took 1min.
Have taken the engine out a couple of times and it’s no longer a job I do out of choice!
I doubt it will work as I suspect that Focus have some logic built into the batteries that Shimano's batteries don't.
Several Focus agents we spoke to insisted, for example, that a TEC pack would work without the internal battery in place, but we tried and got nothing. The specialist French...
Mine's been down a few mountainsides, sometimes with me a few metres behind it, and seems to be strong as an ox. I doubt german manufacturers would mess around with structural integrity.
Thanks for digging those out. They're all good articles, but the most apt part was in the first one, near the bottom:
"Shorter offset also reduces the ‘floppy’ feeling that can occur when tackling tight corners, where the wheel can feel like it wants to tuck under."
That's exactly what I've...
Am hoping to make some mods to my 2018 Jam2 Ltd that will speed up the steering, but don't want to order anything before getting some input from those more knowledgeable than me!
For reference the bike is a standard XL Jam2 with a 27.5 x 2.6 Minion DHF on the front, usually around 21psi. Rider...
