Definitely change the grips, I have Ergon grips also and they are really great. I'd also consider a longer Stem if your geometry feels smaller than your previous bike. If you search this forum for my review on the bike you will see links to the grips and the Stem I ordered.
Finally, I also cut...
Is it possible to change on the Kiox?
Even the Bosch LBS can’t change the wheel circumference anymore with their software (it’s greyed our) to stop people “fudging” the speed limiter...
If you are riding hard in any loose or muddy terrain I agree with Swissrob that you need to swap out the front as a priority.
If your not riding hard I’d suck it and see. I actually like the stock tyres to be fair and they held up ok in most of the XC rides I was doing.
Then I started riding...
The 2.6 e-Wilds arrived this weekend and are now on the Stilus, although I’ve only had a short ride so far. I’ll be able to give a better review/comparison later in the week.
Initial thoughts:
Pro’s:
rubber seems stickier than stock Smart Sams with a much more aggressive trend pattern...
I asked Decathlon about getting a spare hanger and they said they could try and order me one but they don’t carry it in stock yet.
Luckily with so many of you buying these bikes hopefully they will start to stock more spares :D
Decathlon aren’t really geared up for this unfortunately hence shipping with version 1.0.2 which is really old (1.0.3 is well over a year old).
They did tell me the Decathlon Croydon store could do it but not sure if any others could further a field.
Down South the shops I asked said £25 to do...
Not had much of a chance to really test the new update, but it does feel more powerful up a steep incline and the power comes through much more progressively.
No noticeable impact to battery life so far but will have to try riding my regular runs and see whether it chews up anymore battery than...
My Smart Sams sealed ok on the tubeless ready rims without tape. I had to mess around with the valve cores a little as air was leaking through them both, but luckily not the spokes. They have been solid since although I've noticed that you have to run them REALLY low pressures to get decent...
I had the same concerns but my bike Ian in the shop now and I’m having it upgraded.
It doesn’t affect tour and eco mode so you still have solid options that won’t impact battery life and from reviews so far albeit sketchy info regarding battery usage, nobody is calling out it has a major...
I posted all the details and link to order earlier in this (now very long) thread and also in my Stilus Review on here: 2020 Decathalon Stilus - EMTB Forums
I went with a 70mm Stem as I didn’t want to affect the steering response too much. It gave me a little bit more room now and feels really...
Never seen the white spacer/lug like you have, they normally come with a black spacer and no lug.
Ok, not a great picture of the spacer, but the only photo of it I have on my phone!
Easy to adjust, lots of videos on youtube. You could try this one for the principle albeit not the same brakes as the Stilus.
Don't forget these bikes weigh more than a standard non-electric bike. I thought the breaks were pretty poor when I first road it but it was just adjusting to the...
