I’m thinking of changing my fork to a non-OEM (Marz Bomber Z1 Coil). Does anyone know if there are any other headset options other than the FSA that Trek Spec’s?
Don’t actually know. I thought it was a blown seal as it wasn’t returning on compression and packing down. LBS managed to prize it open again which let out a massive hissing noise and sent it back under warranty. Didn’t get a definitive answer. ?♂️
They do it. I have Zeb Select+ on my Rail 9. My Lyrik failed and was sent back to Trek under warranty. They couldn’t fix as there were no CSU’s for Lyrik Select+ left in EU, so...............I got a new Zeb!!!
Al, you’re right, there’s no definitive answer as everyone seems to have their own preferences. However, that said, 30psi seems to well below the average for your weight. I’m 90kg and run 88psi on my Rail 9. What fork are you running? It’s usually easy enough to go to manufacturers website to...
??? Yeah, visibility zero and a good 10deg colder at the top! My Singletrack Timber Bell came in handy on descent tho. Hikers appearing out of mist could hear me coming in plenty of time! ?
No, shock is the same. As long as it’s the correct size TF Tuned sell the mounting hardware with Through Bolt to fit to Trunnion frame mounts. Give them a call, they’ll talk you through it!
Just FYI I run 305mm from top of seat collar to top of saddle. That still leaves the 40mm of lower post above the collar. I could prob only lower another 4-5mm before it hits the kink in seat tube. Hope this helps.
This gives me 915mm from top of pedal at 6 o’clock to top of saddle. This is what fits my body. It’s not the Min insertion you need (we know that fits), it’s how much post you need in the frame for your legs. I’m 33” inside leg. I’d measure what you run at mo (at full extension) and then measure...
I’m also on a large frame. I’m 6’1” with a 33” inside leg. Still had about 40-50mm post above collar. Now running a 210mm One-Up dropper. Only just fits but made a huge difference.
Length of post at full extension was 460mm or 490mm including mechanism at bottom. Drop is 185mm (obvs). You could work out from your current set up whether 460/490 will work to the kink in seat tube.
