    Sram UHD - Trek specific?

Is the Sram UHD for Trek Rail specific. I see they’re about £10 more than standard? Can you just not buy the standard one and move bigger washer/seal across?

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

As others have said above it would depend on what and how hard your riding is. I mainly ride my Rail at bike parks now and use it for gnarlier local laps. Anything covering miles I’ll still use my analogue. I’m going to Morzine in July so my Zebs at 170 and Ohlins TTX at 160 are going to handle...

Winter riding kit - stuff to keep you warm and dry

I wear large in other brands and just chose large in the Briskers. Seemed ok to me.

Winter riding kit - stuff to keep you warm and dry

Funny, I find exactly the opposite. Couldn’t wear mine in the summer as hands would be too sweaty. They are the cold weather version. Guess I must a bit hotter. Wear Cold Weather Briskers in winter and Celiums in the summer.

Winter riding kit - stuff to keep you warm and dry

Gloves - 100% Brisker They are the best I’ve had so far. Your hands will get damp eventually in a deluge but they’ll stay toastie!!!

    Smashpot and fork level

^^^^^ This is true. Have already converted my Zeb Select + with Charger 2.1 damper. Feels great but I’m biased as went away from Fox back in 2015 due to service intervals.

Anyone else noticed excessive cable wear?

Recent visit to Rogate and my rear brake gave in. Lever to bar and no braking. Luckily was the last run anyway. Once home I ran through the usual checks - pads, bleeding, etc. On the bleeding I noticed that oil was coming out of the chainstay where the cable is routed. I dropped the motor out...

    North Wales Trip

Much prefer Gwydir Mawr to Penmachno. Also recommend Cwm Carn over Afan. If you do the Twrch Trail until you pop out at the road that takes you up to DH trail, climb this road and there’s loads of off piste stuff to your left. Just shuttle back up and go again.

    Clothing for wet riding

^^^^ just had a look……it’s a Keela Saxon. Wouldn’t wear it DH though as it’s not heavy duty material. Reckon it would rip pretty easy but yet to wet out!

    Clothing for wet riding

Keela rain jacket (can’t remember which one I got now) but it outperforms all my others by far - Royal Racing, Madison, IXS, Altura. A bit like Steve’s experience with Rohan. I’ve had mine a while now and it just keeps working.

    Cheating? Me? Where’s your Missus?

Trek Rail with Fox DHX2 coil

Rail 9 too, although I’ve done quite a few changes. I run an Ohlins ttx rear coil from TF Tuned. They will also sell you hardware required to swap out Trunnion mounted shock on the 9. Massive difference riding. So much so that I ended up doing a Smashpot coil conversion on fork to balance out...

    End of Trek Rail ???

I’d think it was more to do with Bosch developing and about to release next Gen CX motor. Bike manufacturers currently waiting for details from Bosch in order to design future bikes. Shouldn’t affect 2022 models tho.

    170mm RockShox ZEB mounted

I was lucky enough last year to receive a warranty replacement for my Trek CSU Lyriks. They exploded. Sram couldn’t source any Trek CSU Lyriks to replace so I got sent a pair of Zeb Select+ with Trek CSU. Anyways, I actually found them a little too firm on my hands. Don’t know whether it’s cos...
