It should also be noted that if you have the 2020+ Kenevo expert with the boxxer fork and you just want to replace the stock split crown to eliminate creaking you can use the stock lower bearing and buy a cane creek 40 steel 52/30 crown race to go back on the stock boxxer steerer tube.
Update...
I’ve had my EXT Storia On my Levo for over two years and now on my Kenevo with no issues at all. Yes EXT does approve and warranty its use on the Levo and Kenevo.
Hello Rob,
I removed the offset bushing and that helps. Front wheel feels less floppy.
As you mentioned, suspension set up is critical and I am finding it challenging to set up a freshly serviced Fox 38. I am leaning towards a plusher set up (more sag) so I can drop the bottom bracket down...
Hello Rob and Jooles I have a quick question for you guys please see below:
I have fitted a single offset bushing into the EXT Storia top shock mount with the bushing rotated to position the 8 mm hole inward. My Flip chip is in the High position. The steering/handling feels a little squirrely...
A stiffer spring will definitely help with that and you can slow down the rebound and add more LSC and HSC or get it retuned of needed. You may still get more mid to early stroke support from the air spring but most likely not more grip. Not sure your X2 will achieve the bottomless feel near...
Hi Rob.... EXT should offer superior grip, ride and handling to other shocks and should be faster on course, once sag is set properly with the correct spring and shock adjustments optimized of course.
Rob... I doubt this is it but here goes. If you have never had an EXT shock before, there is a tiny ball type check valve inside the shock that clicks even at the slightest movement of the shock. You get used to it and don't even notice it after a while but EXT says they don't artificially...
Hello amichaelf.....Was the boxxer ultimate fork you purchased set to 56 mm offset instead of 46 mm for some reason?
It looks like you can get the 29er and 27.5 boxxer forks both in 46 mm offset direct from rock shocks.
Thanks for the reply. I'll go ahead and try the 50mm stem first.
Regarding the Cannibal tires, are you using the Grid Gravity , "dual" ply T9 tires or the "dual" compound T7/T9?
How did you like the Continental Kryptotal tires?
I typically measure sag when in my neutral riding position, which is basically standing with my knees and arms bent, with my weight centered between front and rear of bike. Have a friend or a wall nearby to hold the bike steady or lean against. Important to have full riding kit on and water...
Rob...did you fit the Fox 38 yet? If so please fill us in on the ride and handling details when you get a chance.
I have not yet fitted my Fox 38 as I first must do an oil service and swap in the 180mm air shaft. I did fit an EXT Storia Lok 3 with a 500lb spring and it feels great so far...
Thanks I appreciate the detailed response. I am about 5'11" and I weigh about 195 all geared up. I'll report back once I get a basic 29er set up on my Kenevo.
Thanks so much. If you don't mind I have a couple more questions when you have time.
What is your weight, and height with riding gear and what size Kenevo are you running?
Is the 500 lb spring on your storia providing the correct sag percent and what is that percent please?
What is your...
On your Storia are you running the 62.5 mm stroke or 65 mm? I have a Storia in 62.5 mm that I'm wanting to try on my Kenevo.
Also what is your flip chip position?
Thanks,
