There is a sacrifice for better braking and longevity. And that is noise. Shimano pads will be your best bet, you do not brake hard enough to worry about it. 203 rotors are a minimum size for an ebike and 220 is preferred. problem is there are not a lot of 220 rears with magnets for the speed...
Auto shifting is not a deal breaker, its not a perfected science. And not going to happen on a 12sp cassette that is hyperglide. Only 11sp linkglide have autoshift. Now I love the free shift on my 12sp. I do get auto ghost shifting, sometimes the bike shifts gears to match the speed of the...
so the canyon page at their site, says we will contact you later, after we figure out what the next steps will be.
I would not assume a new battery is coming just yet, because next step may be an inspection by your nearest Shimano tech. I honestly doubt this. But its how they worded it. They...
here the shimano warranty is actually on the battery itself, as is the wiring cable and obviously the motor. Yours should be the same. Canyon will be required to notify you, but its shimanos responsibility
Not a really a Canyn decision. Shimano puts their stamp of approval on these batteries, its why Shimano does the warranty work on these. Canyon just sends you the warning to cover their end, since they sold it to us.
100% on a side note, my spectral has had nothing but problems since I bought it, due to the battery. They replaced motor and wiring, and it still shuts off. I know the battery is overheating, because sometimes it takes 5 to 10 minutes for it to cool down before the bike will power back on...
Nope. Just brittle plastic that was to thin. Its all about saving production cost. Better plastic and a hair thicker will solve our issues. Design is not wrong. Material and craftsmanship is the problem.
Like anything else, if you practice with it, you can use it to your advantage in technical applications. Not going to help me in trophies and KOMs on strava
Nope. Weak plastic, the cases are cracking in all different areas. What you noticed is just a weak spot. Cracking has been going on for a long time, and can be found on all areas of the case. The german forums have a thread going back to early spring on this problem
Hoping they are quicker than 4 weeks, im effected, and 4 buddies with a CF8s and a CFR. My bike has been shutting off randomly since I bought it. Shimano replaced the wiring harness once, and they replaced the EP801 motor. Its probably been the battery the whole time. After they replace...
Added Di2 to my Canyon Spectral CF8 ON. did require having the shimano computer and etube pro using minimax to get error codes off. You have to switch the motor to electronic shifting as it is programmed from the factory as mechanical. If you dont do this, you get a error code that locks you out.
Emax helped me install di2 on a mechanical motor, yes they program the motor from the factory to either electronic or mechanical. You need the pce2 cable/computer and minimax to reprogram the motor. Thank you to emax
I wear through shimano cassettes and chain on average, every 800 miles. But I ride very aggressive and climb a lot of elevation. 2,938 miles for the year so far, and 287,145' climbed. I average 30 miles a ride, and usually im in 2 gears most of the time. Never had a chain show bad wear...
Canyon sectral cf 8 on. Same issue, same code after installing di2. Read this thread contacted emax, and I already had the shimano computer. Works perfect with all the knowledge here, and emax. Shout out to Emax!!!! those guys are great to deal with and stand up people. Helped me out and it...
It depends on how hard you ride, and your skill level, combined with how much climbing your doing. I dip chain in molten speed wax every 60 miles. Thats 2 rides and 8000' of climbing. But I used to wash my bike frequently. Shimano 12s drive train, 8100 chain and different hyper glide...
It is a rosenberg connection. BUT its a Shimano part, that fails a lot. Im on my second one, and at the moment they are back ordered. Your local Shimano service center should be able to get you one. Mine is being replaced under warranty, Pretty easy to replace once you do get it.
