FOD is as boggy as buggery at present so sensible to leave it a bit. The Verderers will be ok but I expect the first bit of the Red will be sodden. I would plan Blue until you hit the extended red and join it there as it will be less busy.
Hi Gizzmo, If you can get in Try The Doward Park Campsite. A few Belltents available. Owners are cyclists. It's at the top of the Great Doward on the river Wye. Not FOD I grant you but. Loads of natural trails down the Doward to Biblins bridge. Then over the bridge turn right to get to the...
Mine was the first XL of the production line of this model. Can't fault it. I have been riding Forest of Dean and South Wales on it for years and it's never let me down and is as good as the day I bought it. It's miles better than me. I bought it because a guy I know races downhill and, at the...
Hi, thanks for this info.
I have a very weak left calf and ankle after a drunk driver decided to mount the pavement and smash my leg into a wall. Luckily got the other one out the way.
Just like stihidog my left is not working as it was. I use clips and often have to end up laughing as I...
Hi, I used the following for finishing of my forks from a UK company. The Polishing Shop.
Then finished off with Autosol polish with lint free cloths.
I was looking to do the frame but can’t afford to run the offhand polish wheel I have now the electric is sky high in Europe. 🤣
Good luck 👍...
I don’t get any comments now. When I first got my Specialized Enduro 2014 MTB a 60 year old work colleague said ‘oh you got one of them Zebidee bikes. I could never get on with them and went back to a proper Moutain Bike (eg solid frame and forks).’ Times have been changing ever since.
I have kept my Whyte 901 hardtail because it just keeps me on my toes. My E-bike gets me out of trouble on many occasions because my mind seems to get lazy on the e MTB. Also if I ride with my spaniels with the EMTB they tend to wear their pads out so I take the hardtail and go for shorter...
Hi, great advice above. Only thing to add is I had trouble when first getting into tubeless (then I had normal rims due to not being able to afford tubeless rims on my MTB) but Sept in Wales and Blackthorn hedge trimming was doing my head in.
always got leaks, some slow, some quick until I used...
I am so glad I kept my Hardtail. Rode it on a Forest of Dean trail last week as just fancied a non EMTB run and was surprised how well I did. More nimble than the EMTB and made me concentrate on line choice more. Absolutely knackered when I finished but really enjoyed it.
You can always use the...
I had a Specialized Enduro (MTB) and the Wales Weather killed them quick. Went for hope replacement headset. 4 years on-never taken apart. Bought EMTB with Hope already fitted and change my Hardtail over also. Agree with XCDC, just fit them once and they will last.
Hi, just a pennies worth. May be worth giving Orange Bikes (Halifax) a ring as the Charger isn't much more. Just ask them to build it with a Sram GX11 instead of the over priced Eagle drivetrain.
Good luck and I totally understand the Knee situation.
MMMM, I am in the same sort of boat.Love biking and bought my EMTB before container prices went up from £2000 to £13000 in twelve months plus some base materials rose more than that. Result-E Bike is only used when biking with my 21 year old lad, who I can't keep up with anymore. Not my first...
Nothing until ridden as it will take a while to get used to it, agree with the guys about tubeless if not supplied.
Learn about suspension tweaks and go from there.
If riding in a wet, muddy environment and the bike has been made and tested in Sunnier places just make sure the headset bearings...
Sorry, Shimano Electronic Gear Shift System. I found it a bit lightweight and prone to damage. Also if you run out of battery then you are stuck in that gear. Real fun going up hill. Also in UK the cassette and chainring, chain are about £190, which is really good until you smack up the rear...
Sounds like a good idea. I was thinking about it for the Orange 6E but will spend the money on a re-spray in Halifax (UK) ;-) . I don't know if White offer that service? If they had entered the E-bike market when I bought, I would have gone Whyte, as my 901 is so much fun to ride.
Have you...
Don't buy Di2, what ever your choice. Rear Mech too prone to damage and unless you are loaded with cash, not worth it. (Unless the mechs have been revamped in the last three years). Still rate the Sram on my hardtail better and pretty bullet proof.
Test ride if you can and listen to your...
Hi Joeblow,
Give me a personnel message and we I can sort it out the cockpit for you to your specifications.
The FOD reds are a great challenge, especially when rooty and wet,(or saturated like now in our wonderful British Summer). I usually hit the Blue and then venture of on the extended Red...
I have a Specialised Enduro (2014) which I go out in the Forest Of Dean (UK) with the Dogs.Their pads get stripped if they follow me on the E-Bike during a long ride when it's dry. Forest of Dean (UK) therefore not often. Actually used some dry lube this year for the first time ever ;-). I have...
