Different strokes. I prefer my ebike to have long travel and full power. Anything less than full power makes no sense to me. If I feel like working harder, I can ride my Amish bike or put my full power ebike in eco mode, which I almost never do. I’ll take lighter weight, but I still want full...
If you follow him on instagram, he had several posts from the show, mostly looking at the new motors and test riding them. He was talking about which ones he could potentially use in the future with his bikes. So it seemed like they’re coming back, sooner rather than later.
If it came with a derestrictable motor with MGU and belt drive, I’d be in. As of now, I’ll either get the Nicolai with the Pinion, or an equivalent long travel ebike with an MGU and belt drive. A Sonni with the pinion and a belt drive would be awesome, if it’s also able to be derestricted.
I’ve been on high rise bars and spacers for years. Also have a moto background. It just feels way more comfortable to be centered and more upright on the bike. Especially on the DH. You have more room to move around, you can get further back on DH or move forward on the climbs, I don’t have any...
Speedfun doesn’t make a derestrictor for the rim magnet, only the rotor magnet. My friend also has the speedfun and accidentally left it installied when he had the last update installed and it’s still fine with no issues. He doesn’t use the display either so no speed errors.
No, that’s only for racing purposes. None of the other motors come stock with as much overrun as the Bosch CX Race. But the overrun is only in race mode, not in the other modes. The regular Bosch CX doesn’t have the overrun either, even in turbo mode.
No, it doesn’t give power when you back pedal. It does have overrun. As explained in the video, when you stop pedaling, the motor continues for about 10’.
The only way it would have a side load is if you had one of the yokes flipped, so the offset is on the opposite side as the other yoke. The front and rear yokes have to have the offset on the same side.
The issue with the batteries not being certified and unable to deliver was in the US when I enquired. I don’t think that’s an issue in the UK as far as I know.
