They sound like douches. Them being a Trek/Bosch dealer, they should’ve known where the port was. Luckily my LBS has always been cool with me bringing my bike in for updates and they dig my Pole.
Update and first ride report with the new lighter battery. So first ride today with the smaller battery and I definitely noticed it. 20 mile ride with 2,850’ of elevation. I didn’t push on the climbs because I wasn’t sure what the range was going to be, but I rode up some steep sections that I...
Thanks Suns, as for the motor and bike, it’s exactly what I wanted and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. From the beginning, I wanted a full power, long travel DH oriented frameset that I could build up how I wanted, (full 27.5 capable, light as possible but still burly and durable enough...
Yes, I’m sure the shock is great, but I like to have brand matching suspension, so if the intend infinity fork wouldn’t work because of the lack of turning radius, then I won’t run the shock either. I also have to do the same with tires. I just can’t put on two different brands.
Thanks bro. If you haven't already seen the complete build, it’s here. 2023 Pole⚡️Voima⚡️Race Pack
Since I bought it as a frameset, I picked every part for it with weight and durability for me and my riding style and terrain in mind. 50lb dumbbell shows 50.35lbs. I’m confident the weight is...
Ok, so I finally got the right part number for the North American Bosch 500w vertical Smart System battery. I picked it up last night and put it in. The bike was previously 50.00lbs on the dot with the 750 battery and no fenders. I later added front and rear fenders but I’m not sure how much...
The bike was 50lbs before the swap, with the 750 battery, stock Voima battery cover and no fenders. It’s now 47.97lbs with 500w battery, Vision Velo battery adapter and cover as well as front and rear fenders. A 48lb Voima! Can’t wait to ride it and feel the difference!
Rear wheel weight minus cassette is 800g, front wheel is 720g. The XO 11 speed 10-42 cassette is 268g. Weirdly, the XX1 10-42 cassette is 280g. Gripshift Shifter is 90g, (I like it) XO derailleur is 256g, XX1 is 248g. YBN 11sp Ti chain is 232g, cables are Jagwire. 👍🏼
😂👍🏼 Thanks man. When it comes to the wheels and tires, it comes down to rider preference and riding styles. Luckily I’ve always been pretty easy on my wheels so I can get away with lighter wheels and tires. Also my rims are 40i so I get plenty of sidewall support from the wide rim and large...
I actually just picked up my 500w battery last night, so I haven’t ridden or weighed it yet. But I was At 50lbs before the swap, so I should be around 47-48ish lbs since I’m already running lighter wheels, cranks and XO1/XX1 11 speed. I’ll post up pics and scale shots later. 🤘🏻😎
How’s the turning radius with a Dorado on a Voima? I have a 40 on mine and I regularly hit the bump stops on tight turns and I imagine it would be worse with the bigger tubes up top. I was considering getting an intend shock and infinity fork, but when I inquired about the distance between the...
You don’t need to change to the swingarm sensor to run 27.5. People get the swingarm sensor so they can derestrict the bike. My first gen Voima had a rim magnet and I ran it full 27.5 without issue. My 2nd Voima race ID is also full 27.5, but with a swingarm magnet sensor. 😉
So after speaking to Bosch, I was given a part number for a US 500w vertical PowerTube Smart System battery. And after conferring with my LBS, I ordered Another 500w battery today! I’ll hopefully have it by next week.
That is nice, but still no belt drive. If I were to get an MGU bike in the future, I’d get a belt drive too. So it would be virtually maintenance free.
