Do you ride your EMTB with people on acoustics?

    Bafang with throttle...?

    Long distance bikepacking

I wish I could answer that. My clockwork bike has Nobby Nics on it - as does my wife's. My EMTB came with Maxxis Rekon. I was looking forward to trying them because I thought they'd be great. Very disappointed. The sand here gives them no grip at all in a straight line and cornering depends on a...

    Long distance bikepacking

That's a really tough question. It depends on your resistance to heat. The weather here is all messed up at the moment. We (missus and me) did the GR247 in Sierra de Cazorla at the end of April-beginning of May last year. We had a weekend in Córdoba on the way there and the daytime temperatures...

    Long distance bikepacking

Forgot to mention, the bit of the Transandalus through the Parque Natural de Cazorla shows lots of refugios. Be aware that these are just huts. Made out of stone and very nice, but they have absolutely no services - which means no water at many of them and there is certainly no electricity...

The website is back up and showing the Bosch models once again.

Your tyre choice will be critical. I know the southern part of that route in Cádiz Province quite well (I live on it) and much of the route follows the coast or goes through the dunes (or forest on dunes). There is a lot of soft, loose sand (unless it's rained - we're in the middle of a drought...

Jam² Cable Rattle: How To Remove Cable Channel Cover

The brake and motor cables from the LHS have come loose and are banging really noisily on any rough ground. I need to get the cable cover off. This is item 21 on the exploded view. This seems to be held behind 3 studs but I cannot seem to move it. Has anyone done this? If so, how? TIA

Answered What to bring in case of a chain snap?

Isn't an "inner + outer" = "1 full link" = 1 inch? Which would be around two and a half centimetres for removal of two outers, one inner and replace with one quick link.

Traveling to Spain in May 2020 - need eMtb advice/help

From Barcelona, I would head into the Pyrenees to Ainsa and Zona Zero - where the EWS has taken place a couple of times. Mostly single track. Loads of well planned routes and even their own App. Zona Zero Pirineos - Home If you look in the Travel section you find a list of Spanish links I put...

Answered What to bring in case of a chain snap?

Worth practicising how to do a chain repair using an existing pin on an old chain. Recently was on a ride where 2 of us snapped chains within 30 minutes of each other. Only one of us had a quick link. The other chap was going to push out the 10km until I showed him how to do the repair. (One of...

    Chain lube recommendation

Same here. Used Squirt up until last week, then used the Oz Bike Wax formula. It'll be interesting to see the difference.

Do you ride your EMTB with people on acoustics?

All the groups I ride with are mixed groups. It was the encouragement of the riders in these groups which convinced me to get the EMTB (let's be honest, the youngsters got fed up waiting for this old git to stuff his lungs back into his chest after gasping his way to the top of every climb...

    Hello from Ulm!

Of course! Highest church tower in the world - that's a challenge that has to be done! That's true of everywhere. It must be more than 5 years ago I was in Ulm. Had a great time in your city. Have the "Sparrows" all moved house now?

Certainly is - a lovely climb to the top. And Spatzen on every street corner, I seem to remember :)

    JAN2 battery charger

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question. I guess you may have the Shimano motor and battery - my Focus Jam² has the Bosch system and the charger does not have an LED. Only the battery shows LEDs and these go out when the battery is fully charged. What model year is your bike? What has...
