not being pedantic...just explaining my perspective and experience having fitted shorter ( 155mm) cranks.
To be a bit clearer, if you look at the reason for the recommended leg extension when the cranks are at 4 oclock it is mostly about preventing hip rotation ( saddle to high) and quad...
didnt say it does not matter on an ebike!! :) I said it does not matter much on an EMTB. Probably not that important for either giving the assistance provided by the motor and the more limited sit down pedal distances likely on either compared to a road bike.
I spend more time up on the pedals...
it is not quite as simple as thinking 10mm less crank length= raising the seat by 10mm. At the top of the crank rotation the saddle to pedal distance is 10mm longer!! Efficient leg to pedal set up is usually done at 4 Oclock which will be about 6mm difference ( not that it really matters much on...
I have used the Wild Enduro ( not E wild). They are front or back specific. The front tyre is fantastic....as good as a DHF. The rear tyre is pretty fast rolling and with good traction except when it is muddy.........but so are most tyres that do not have an open tread pattern.....so for winter...
correct....merely feeling if a bearing is smooth only proves it is probably clean and still has some grease in it..............but without the load it usually has to bear it does not prove the bearing is not worn. Better to test the rear triangle bearings with the chainstays and seat stays still...
well you would not do that would you!! If it only takes an hour to charge the one you have your eye on it could be recharged over a lunch break in a layby using the genny, outside the van!..........or you could spend a couple of days waiting to find enough sun to trickle charge it using solar...
you could get a petrol generator as well to charge the power bank....to charge the bike.........hang on..........just use the generator to charge the bike!! :p
Seriously I think there is still a role to play for generators...horses for courses!! I use a small 240w/h Jackery to run all the...
I use a tether on the Kiox300.............and the handlebar mount is left only tight enough to stay still but can be moved by hand without loosening the bolt ( same with brakes etc on the bars..........if they get hit they can move rather than break!!)
Personally I pay more attention to value than price. Strangely when it comes to car purchase there is probably more "heart than head" that governs my purchase decisions; possible due to my past involvment in motor sport, but when it comes to MTB, I more interested in function than anything else...
If it getting that hot I would chuck it!!
I place my Bosch charger on a small cast iron roasting dish to act as a heat sink..............even after charging a 750 w/h battery from a bout 25% to fully charged it only gets warm....nowhere near what I would classify as hot.
Highest gross profit margin I know of is...............................Coffee in a coffee shop..............we should all boycott them ( not least because the coffee is invariably horrible anyway!)............. :ROFLMAO:
Possibly because there is such a wide variability of use? Pedelecs primarilly used only on paved surfaces as city/commuter bikes probably have a much easier life than EMTBs even with significantly higher mileage. Keep in mind the electric motor set ups we use have had little more than a decade...
It is nevertheless an interesting ruling and one that focused purely on the difference between motor assist and permanent motor drive. The other pedelec criteria were not mentioned.....ie max 250 Watts nominal and max assisted speed.
Yes the UK is not in the EU but is very unlikely to disagree...
I think there is a general misconception that the amount of gel or padding in a saddle is what makes it comfortable. what is more important in my opinion is fit. Any gel or padding is of no benefit if it is not in the right place for a riders sit bones and padding elsewhere on the saddle can...
I can believe that...but the tyre also adopts a more square profile with a wider rim so that can impact performance depending on the tyre in question. I think higher volume tyres increase comfort but as I said above that can be at the expense of stability on the rim in my experience. My...
