    Bosch Smart/AXS

yes I get the shift advice on the Kiox 300 although it seems to me to be only at the beginning of a ride for some reason. In my local forest there are some sudden and very steep climbs where traction is as important as gearing and over time I have learnt what gear gives the best chance of...

    Whyte e160s rear shock

it is best to stick to the original stroke length to a void any potential frame damage. Stroke travel is easilly shortened DIY on quite a few shocks simply by using 2.5mm spacers...so your 60mm stroke shock would just need one spacer. If the shop is sourcing the shock and it is one of the simple...

Trying Clipless again...no spikes Mallet Enduro?

each to their own preference and style!! Personally I have never lost footing even on the gnarliest downhill so have no incentive to use cleats. I did try clip in once out of curiosity, and hated both the shoes and not being a ble to move my foot to different pedal positions. I also found the...

Mucky Nuts Mudguard Rear fitting question…

maybe not as tight as you think!! Note the paint worn away on the seat stay just forward of the first zip tie! The same happened to my bike after a full winter season with the mudhugger on. I now use 5 of the 6 slots for zip ties!

    Bosch Smart/AXS

I note that the Specialized Mastermind can connect to AXS and as a result show on the display what gear is selected. I wonder whether that would be a welcome feature for the Bosch Smart System to have for others. I would certainly find it useful!!

Mucky Nuts Mudguard Rear fitting question…

I use the Mudhugger FRX front muguard, as a rear mudguard all year round. It goes from chainstays cross member to about the top of the rear wheel. In the winter I fit the large rear Mudhugger over the top of the FRX and attach it with reuseable zip ties. I decide before each ride whether to take...

    Gen4 CX wont power on

I dont understand!! Kiox 300 is merely a slave screen working off a controller. you list a bove that you have a mini remote and Kiox 300.................neither is a controller..............so where is the controller. There are only 2 Bosch controllers for the Smart System................a LED...

    Tyre losing pressure

If you are not setting tyre pressures before each ride I think you are missing a trick or two. Pressures will vary a little with temperature and I have 3 sets of pressures I use depending on the ride ahead and predicted trail conditions. I find the tyres are very sensitive to even just a few psi...

Trying Clipless again...no spikes Mallet Enduro?

what a faff! Go back to flats!! Good flat pedals with 5-10s or similar (soles) gives you all the security you would ever need on an MTB in my opinion ( you have to lift your foot to get off the pedal, no way it is moving otherwise!).....and why would you want a repeatable foot position when it...

LED Remote. Can i add a Kiox?

If your Stereo has the LED Remote then it is a Bosch Smart System bike. Adding a Kiox 300 is a 5 minute job and does not need any LBS involvement. When you buy a Kiox 300 you can specify front or rear connections and get a short cable to go with it (usually 300mm). Most EMTB users would pick the...

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

I took my e180rs to a lbs to check the long/short crank setting. Turns out it was already on short crank setting which is 165mm and shorter.......original cranks on the e180rs were 165!! There were however 4 motor and 2 battery updates to be done so at least the bike is up to date now and it...

    Tyre losing pressure

Every tyre I have ever set up tubeless loses pressure over a few days. The rear always more than the front probably because it is under more stress on a ride than the front despite being a DD v Exo+ on the front. The sealant seals up the tyre walls but then when used the tyre walls flex and...

    E160s mx rear shock

If it is the correct overall length and the same stroke as you existing shock then the only other things to sort are the shock fittings at either end. .......and you will limited in terms of water bottle attachment.

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

I think if you already have Kiox ( the original Kiox) the job is at least simpler. If you currently have no display then a cable has to be run from the motor to the Nyon and ( I believe) that is a motor out job. Dont know whether the system would auto recognise the new controller or whether it...

    Garage Doors

I have a double garage with aluminium up and over electric door. No experience of any other type of door. Mine needs room for the motor and belt channel overhead plus channels on either side for the door rollers. So definitely it would take more headroom I think than a roller door. My question...
