When mine is repaired , I shan’t use it, just wrap in cotton wool.
Apparently there was a shipping issue but my motor etc is to arrive at the shop tomorrow, fingers crossed ?
A mountain bike by design should not require this level of care, I had a Scott and my wife and son have Cube bikes ridden all weather without any problems
The new cover seals the gap between the case half’s joint.
Take the back wheel off, you will see the gap, I put sponge into the moulded cavity of the swing arm, it stops crud getting in. You need the internal foam installing by your dealer.
Well gents whatever it is it’s obviously not a one off issue and needs resolving. Replacing like for like of an inadequate component will result in repeated failure.
Why can’t Specialized admit this is an error in design and replace it with a cable fit for purpose. Is it cost? The cost to reputation will in the long run be much higher.
I await the root cause failure analysis as the Specialized rep on the forum states no faults in the returned cables have...
Thanks for that I will be calling the shop this afternoon, what concerns me is the fragility of these pins/connection on a bike that is designed for rugged use, if this is the issue Specialized should publish a warning regarding this issue and how to care for what should have been engineered out...
If this is for real it’s a major design flaw, it’s obvious that ,dirt, grit, water ingress will occur in this area. My bike in for a second time today, not a happy chap, this Rosenberger connection is obviously not sealed correctly, what are Specialized going to do?
