Complain to customer care if the bike is not fit for purpose use your consumer rights, the bike is only a month old, get a refund or replaced, if you can get a refund I would given their history.

This demonstrates clearly the design is not fit for purpose and this communication is an admission to that fact.
I find it hard to believe a year on and this issue is still not resolved, very poor indeed, a total cable redesign should be in place and a recall should to ensure all are fit for purpose.
