The original Bosch rim magnet is removed. I keep it in my riding pack just in case I’m forced to abandon the Megabobra and reinstall the rim magnet on the trail…..I would also remove the spoke magnet to deactivate the Megabobra pulse.
Well I was finally able to go on a 23mile ride with the Megabobra installed.
First few miles I got no error codes. Then I took a down hill line with jumps, in RACE mode(getting more air time than I’ve ever gotten before on these jumps, due to me being able to push past the previous 20mph limit)😁...
I haven’t had time to go on an actual ride with it yet. But it’s working while the bike is held off the ground in a stand.
I can’t see how up dating the software would cause problems, due to the simplicity of the Megabobra creating a slower magnet pulse which reflects the actual speed slowing...
I’ve only tested the bike after the Megabobra instal while in a bike stand. Haven’t ridden it.
How do I find the current firmware it’s got? I wasn’t finding it in the flow app
Thanks for the reply and info. That makes complete sense now, that the shown speed jumps back up before hitting zero. Sounding like I’ve got it set up right, looking forward to my first ride with it.(beginning of next week) I’ll keep you posted.
I’m guessing it’s fine to leave the Megabobra...
The Rim magnet has been removed since I started the instal.
I moved the Megabobra made magnet a bit higher up on the motor, which has made an improvement with not triggering an error code right away. The speed fluctuates from 14.3-14.4 with the set-up jumper wire in place (watched it for 1min)...
Thanks for the reply……and crap! So this will not work?
Or should I move the Megabobra made magnet around to see if it needs to be placed better.
Or could it be that the Megabobra made magnet isn’t strong enough or it’s too strong of a pulse?
Has anyone successfully put this on the new CX Race motor with no issues?
I got the LPP outlet turned on.
Found where the Bosch internal sensor is picking up the Megabobra magnet signal at a constant 14.2-14.3 MPH with the setup jumper wire connected. I get a nice smooth speed reading with the...
I think I’ll bed the TrickStuff Power pads into my existing rotors(once cleaned & scuffed), and try out an unused set of SRAM Sintered pads with my new set of rotors. This way I can swap from one setup to the other quickly to see which feels and sounds the best….I never tried the SRAM Sintered...
I’m running Cascade North Fork Calipers with my Stealth Ultimate Codes. They made a noticeable difference. I’m currently running the HS2 220mm/200mm Rotors with the SRAM organic/alum plate pads. I’m still looking for a bit more bite power (I’m used to riding with Magura MT7’s), so I just ordered...
Correct. It’s just the Bosch Rim Magnet setup that has issues. Because the pedals are rotating to close to where the rim magnet passes by the motor sensor.
Be advised that magnetic pedals will NOT work with the new Bosch Gen4 motor with the rim magnet set up.
They cause the speed to fluctuate all over the place due to it sensing the pedals magnets. Doing hill climbs the motor will occasionally shut down(dangerous on tech climbs) because it’s seeing...

I didn’t ride mine with the Ultimate air that came with it. I put the EXT coil on it before my first ride.
I am keeping the Super Deluxe Ultimate air as a backup and for when the EXT coil goes in for a rebuild.
Troydon(Crestline) thinks I should give the Ultimate air a shot just to see if I...
I see this post being over 2yrs old. But I am also looking for a chainring bash guard for my Bosch CX Race Gen4 motor with a 36T chainring. I currently have an e*thirteen chain guide as well. I’m curious if the Nukeproof chain guide ISCG 05 top guide with bash guard would work?
