You mention the slack head angle of 63 giving stability, do you not think the 10mm lower BB compared to most bikes plays a equivalent factor? especially considering short stays usually reduce stability. I wonder if putting a 27 on the back of 29, a Focus SAM for example, would get you almost...
No not especially low for a normal bike, but eMTB have generally been higher. Im no expert but most ebike ive looked at have been 348ish (Levo, SantaCruz etc.) or higher. If that is right then 340mm is a huge step, and a big contributor to the stability of the bike.
Just surprised it has not...
It might be long and slack, but that BB looks very low for a 150mm travel bike at 340mm.
People have already been looking for 160mm cranks, and now BB are getting even lower?!
Amazes me people pay so much for second hand ebikes given the lack of warrenty and the falibility of motors and electronics. You can be lucky, but just as likely you could be paying through your nose for a basic fault.
:ROFLMAO: I cant imagine you would want to use what a factory uses, because it will be industrial solvents and the equipment not anodised aluminum.
Good result deciding to not use gorrila tape though, its a mess to clean up. It became a popular recomendation for tubless as back in teh day it...
I dont think it would work. The clamps are curved for 32mm, not 35mm bars, and the threaded section is fixed so the bolt would not be pointed at the other clamp once opened up. Youd have to bend the clamp a fair bit to get it close, and even then the bolt would probably not fit as the bar might...
Yeah these serrated / hooked / humped bead seats are making some tyres crazy tight. And then new tyres are always tight fitrst fit.
A full width tape will probably be fine, once tyres have loosened off, but yes it can make an already difficult task even harder. Take care with just a spoke hole...
AR30 have a hump the tyre has to push over to seat, so same has to happen in reverse.
How much/what type of rim tape does it have. Taping over the 'hump' on these type of rims can make them a bit too big diameter for a new tight tyre.
Removal for similar rims with grips often involves resting...
My one commute road on mtb ebike confirmed what i expected, not actually any quicker due to limiter on the flat, despite making more speed up hills. Far easier though.
It does however cut 5-10min off my normal 60min 'offroad' footpaths and bridleways commute, due to quicker acceleration and...
We can get ebikes on the 'green commute initiative'. The limit is 2.5k though, and through one supplier who only has very basic bikes at full rrp. So even the basic commute bikes are pretty junk.
Report sugegsts £3000 grants, i presume that means a 3k bike not given upto 3k (offa 9k bike!). Im not familiar with how government grants work. Anyone shed any light how they are worded/work for electric cars or charger installs etc. ???
Ive had a MaxxD (1000L) since they came out 10+ years ago, awesome light, still works but only last an hour on full now so mainly used for offroad commuting. I replaced it a few years ago with a newer MaxxD which can do 2400L and a 1000L Diablo. I almost never use full power on local trails...
The MX all have Fox shock, presumably as Fox could/would supply shocks with a shorter stroke to reduce travel to 140mm, the standard Heckler all have RS with 150mm travel. No idea what the stroke difference is as they dont list it.
This is the same approach Vitus did with the eSommet and...
You should thank yourself for crashing, lets you get rid of that helmet, it must be over 10 years old!? :ROFLMAO:
Seriously though, how old is that? Ive not seen one like that for a good long while.
Worth noting helmets should be replaced every 5-10 years (industry recommendation, take with...
Yeah large sheets of sticky plastic, that also stretches and needs to be worked onto a curved surface is pretty awkward to install straight and without bubbles or fingerprints. After doing a few my tip is to work in an area you can soak the floor and is also warm so your fingers dont freeze...
They list the eSommet kit, its the 2019 model but thats same frame as 2020 (2021 might be different). I have a kit on mine (eEscarpe, same frame), infact have invisiframe on all my bikes. Im not really concerned about scratching paint (its just a bike after all) but the cost of the kit isnt that...
