First ride on mine last night. Still had mud and water up my back. Perhaps my stays (Vitus) are lower pulling the guard further round, or maybe because its a 29 wheel, but the guard isnt long enough to stop all the spray being kicked forward. I can mount it higher away from the tyre but then...
Fitted mine this morning, no pic but the main bit is slightly wider than the 2.35 i have fitted, not that i know how wide the tyre actually is as measurements from manufacturers are all lies ;) .
Already broke one of the brackets. Where they are notched on the inside to allow the clip end to...
Reach is fixed, you cant (easilly) change it. Thats why its used as a comparison, of course you should look at other numbers but as a starting point its better than effective top tube which is nonsense on anything but an xc or road bike.
Stem, bar sweep, seatpost (layback or straight), saddle...
As part of the EU VAT was not being avoided by buying from the Germany not the UK, but obviously VAT went to that country, just like items bought from Wiggle or CRC (same thing) and sent to EU address still paid VAT but to the UK. So only an issue if the UK bought more than it sold within the...
Purchased one of these to see how they go. I have a mudhugger rear on a hardtail and they are very good, but a bit of a faff to fit for the emtb where i wont want it on all the time.
You realise the next step in our political evolution is the Farage party, who are currently planning to campaign for seats against pro cycling MPs. If the Brexit party voters move this way it wont be higher speed limits we get, but banning of eBikes from the roads.
The question is, what progress do you think we will have that we dont have access to as an EU member? Better working and living requires better leadership to steer the counry that way, and sadly i think we can all see there is no decent leadership available.
Thats the issue isnt it, the broad future opportunities mean many have to suffer now.
Talking about bikes again, setting up UK importers for a small sales amount costs the customer more than an EU based importer. Some big brands currently do it, but they have the sales numbers, smaller brands...
There was an article on trade issues recently, specifically anti-dumping tarrifs. These were to be scrapped but will now not. Not sure if other tarrifs will be but im not in the business so dont follow all the ins and outs. What was mentioned was dropping a US bike tarrif, which could be...
What i meant by charging, was making sure you can still get at the port when on the bike :ROFLMAO:
Looks like the 830 its on the edge facing the rider, so as long as its mounted higher than the bar it should be fine.
But in summary, no there is almost certainly nothing like what you are...
Cant work out if you mean a better mount, not elastic bands, or permanent attachment of the garmin unit to the bike.
The latter is not possible, as you can see the garmin unit does not have any attachment points other than the 1/4 turn tabs. The only alternative i can think of to prevent...
I looked at an Exposure lights .. light, and they mention output is lower for Shimano. Further research suggests the different motor levels (E6000, 7000, 8000) might offer different power on the light terminals? sounds odd but that was in some light manufacturer spec sheet.
Does anyone have any...
Put one on the front yesterday, good grip once dug in, deadly on mud covered rocks.
Doubt ill try it on the rear, trails around me cut up badly and an e-shorty on the back would just dig trenches. Id rather ride somewhere else and not ruin the trails for when the ground isnt sodden.
I cant confirm as im yet to see a Sommet in the flesh, but everything ive seen or found would suggest they are the same frame, but as you say a shorter fork to compensate somewhat for the bigger front wheel, and that fatter rear tyre to lift the back up a little to finish it off.
Certainly...
I have an old spreadshee ive found online a few years ago, ive been using it for a while and have made a few tweaks and compared a load of bikes with it. You can spot some interesting things with it.
For Mullet bikes it doesnt work great though so i just did some basic trigonometry of the fork...
Did you measure the wheelbase? with that headangle either the wheelbase figure is miles out or the reach is half a size under what they say. Could have a noticable impact on size choice.
Manufacturers build geo on stock numbers, so things like tyres, forks, etc. may change come final spec. There will therefore be some variance, but i doubt they will be 12mm out, that would require -20mm fork change for example.
Its incredibly difficult to measure accurately without a jig...
Other people are shit riders etc. yes yes.
No one is complaining. I was asking was this considered low? most other bikes seem to be higher, including many of the most popular, and poeple still would like shorter cranks to suit their riding. Yes some may be clots, but some might just be riding...
Out of interest i threw the numbers in a spreadsheet, and they dont all work out anyway. With that wheelbase, head angle and fork you get a reach of 495 for the XL, not 505. I guess wheelbase or head angle are the likely culprits, but not the first time bike companies have massaged numbers to...
