That ride kinda proves a theory that I had. The bike is going to give around 3000ft at a basic eco setting. Whether it is 12 miles straight up or 4 times the distance at 52 miles. Still 3000 ft.
Anyway, this morning at 10 deg F / -12 C I noticed that my power buttons stopped working do to...
I have two 460wh and one 504wh. The 460wh batteries are three years old. I don't have much faith in the how the app records complete charge cycles. Anyway, I bought my two bikes to ride so I don't really spend any time worrying about charging levels. I always run my batteries until they...
Depends on if you are climbing or not. My record in the summer is 3500ft in 12 miles continuous pull. Of course that means another 12 miles downhill back to the car for 24 miles total. Two days ago I did 12 miles continuous pull at 15 degrees Fahrenheit for 2500ft pushing snow the whole...
I may have misunderstood the topic. When I saw the word "cold" I just assumed that we were talking about genuine winter riding, not short commutes to work over long periods of time. I also have an older Levo so if you are on a new Levo then my advice isn't really applicable. So the examples of...
I kinda doubt that the Giant could push snow for 70-90 miles on one battery in below freezing temps. Even on flat land. I gave real world results of a 200 lb rider with tons of extra gear for going into the back country and "not" using the lowest power setting. I also use studded tires. Cheers
I forgot, I carry a spare battery in the winter for emergencies. There is no way you can pedal that Levo through snow without battery assistance. Been there many times. Also, the two hour range is plenty far when you are in the mountains since the ride back down has increased wind . In other...
I keep my bike inside my SUV so that when I get to a trail head my battery and motor are warm. I've noticed that the battery and motor will maintain warm temps for the duration of the ride if they start warm. I verified the after ride temp with the app and put a battery on my face after a...
My rear axle broke at 3200 miles/ 5150km on my Roval hoops. I consider that acceptable for the weight of the bike and rider plus torque. It was $100 to repair. I had custom carbon wheels made with DT Swiss 350 hubs. So far they have 1200 miles/1931km on them with no problems. I mounted...
The bike is a 17' XL. My wife has a MED same year. Suspension is stock, Yari front fork, Fox in the back. Around 4000 miles on mine, never had any suspension seals leak yet and I keep my bike laying on it's side in the back of my Durango all day everyday while I am at work. LOL. I think the...
How come you can't charge inside the RV? I've been looking at the net zero inverters because I like to rough camp in Moab but they are expensive and may get stolen while I am riding.
In other news, I rode the "wedge" today. Thanks for the heads up.
Interesting setup. Not to be negative but I think the vibration and possible heat would be hard on the charger causing a shortened life span. In the summer the heat from the road and RV would cook that charger but if it cooler outside then should be OK. Good luck!
I've never had that happen and I have two Levos. There must be a moisture indicator inside. I always wash my bikes off with a garden hose. Been in plenty of rain, snow and deep water crossings and never had that happen. Hopefully it dries out fast and resets.
