Thanks Bearing Man, that’s helpful. We both have 2.6 tyres on hardtails. Wife’s bike had not had seal changes for 2 years but it was clean as a whistle with plenty of green tacky grease still in place however my bike after only a year since the same service was fairly dry and I always apply...
I looked this up on another forum as I was wondering that myself. Apparently the resin-only rotors don’t handle heat so well. In extreme heat conditions with sintered pads the rotors are more likely to warp. No idea if this is true but I guess it makes sense.
Hi Bearing man, I wonder if you could help. My wife and I both have Cube 2019 bikes with the Bosch gen 2 motors. Bikes are almost the same but mine is higher spec (11 speed as opposed to her 10 speed) and my frame is larger.
During the usual yearly drive side seal changes and regreasing I...
I can see where this is going. Some humans can run 23mph so therefore the next step is to make joggers / walkers carry registration plates and have insurance or perhaps we will all be QR coded / chipped at birth 😬
perhaps the grease has gone, feels a bit rough when turning. Last time I inspected them a few ball bearings had disintegrated. Can’t seem to get the balance right between being too loose with the headset creaking or too tight with grinding noise. Could be I’m using the wrong grease. Just...
I have a 2019 reaction hybrid and would like to replace the awful headset cage bearings with cartridge bearings. How do I go about this? How easy is it?
i have found that once the bead is broken the next time you have to do it, it becomes a bit easier. I would really hate to do it in the pouring rain or freezing cold however.
yep I know what you mean. The wife also has an Access and exactly the same rims and tyres. Breaking the bead on one side is a nightmare. You need hands of iron. She very rarely gets punctures however as her Smart Sams have K-Guard which I believe contains Kevlar fibres. Still the occasional...
