I would imagine 625 will give you plenty of range. my motor is the older heavier Gen 2 version so probably not as efficient as your Gen 4

If I were to change my chain on an 11 speed cassette at 0.5% each time, how many chains per cassette could I get before skipping was a problem? I managed 2 chains when replacing at 0.75. The third chain skipped and was not accepted.

Agree with the cost. Just bought a brand new spare 500wh Bosch for £550. We are now doing longer rides. Considering the use I’ll get out of this and the number of years use, I don’t regret the payment one bit. Eliminating range anxiety....... priceless ?

tried taking glucosamine for arthritis and just did a bit of yoga to make sure. tightened helmet straps to the max and refitted rear wheel. Nope, handlebars still creaking.

Lightly rotating handlebars left or right produces terrible creaking, really quite loud. Any ideas what could suddenly be causing this?

Thanks, that’s helpful. I was worried the fluid would boil and escape or the cable melt. Pumping the brakes seemed to work well with Shimano pads fitted but I’ve changed to cheaper Clarks as an experiment but they are not so grippy which means I’m on the brakes for a longer duration.

I have Shimano XT BR-M8000 brakes and have often experienced brake fade on long descents. What could ultimately happen if heat continued to build up? What damage could I do to components etc and what is likely to happen first?

I’ve decided to try tubeless when my Nobby Nics are worn out (not far off) I’m currently running tubes as well as heavy Tannus armour inserts so I’ll get a significant weight saving. Schwalbe Smart Sams seem pretty cheap but can they run tubeless or do I need to pay more for special ones?

I took the wheels out and squirted peaty’s disc brake cleaner into the brake pads / callipers etc. I allowed everything to dry but now I’ve lost braking power and also they squeal. will this get better or have I caused damage by spraying this stuff directly at the pads?
