I had exactly the same dilemma, came from a full fat and wanted a light weight alternative, I Def didn't want the 540 and double checked it was the 360. The Etube app will tell you what's installed. My Rise weighs 17kg with pedals and most rides I come back with 60% battery still remaining on...
just to be clear, the Rise will run conventional SRAM transmissions perfectly well, it just wont run the new T type, the existing XX, X0, GX systems do not use UDH so work perfectly. I have XX AXS transmission on my rise and its perfect and fits as you would expect on any bike.
In case anyone is interested, I have completed the build of my M20 (I chose m20 as I wanted the 140 fork as starting point and was going upgrade all the driveline anyway).
The bike (size medium) now weighs 17kg, I have tweaked the power and torque slightly with emax for the couple of extreme...
Wow, that is really good of you to take the time to assist. Thanks !!
I have checked the part number, I have the PM adapter. However I am going to refit everything and double check as the first fit was with a SRAM 200mm disc. The gap looked more than the 3mm but my gut feel is you are right and...
the disc fits no issue, it's that the pad sits a few mm too high so it will wear with a groove. This is using the 20mm spacer from Shimano you mentioned in the article.
In terms of the crank nut, on the 2023 its now a 42mm OD 16 cut out. super annoying, what is needed is something like this...
Useful thread, couple of updates for anyone looking to do any of the above.
The rise won't 'properly take a 203 rear disc, with the correct spacer the pad still sits away from.the discs by probably 4mm. Orbea actually state that you can't put a 200 on the back.
To remove the chainring on the...
i did consider battery capacity, but the reason to go for the Rise was about it being lighter so the 360 was important for me, also i tend to prefer a harder workout than riding all day on even Tour on the Rail. So 360 with possible range extender if i embark on longer rides.
thx, based on everything i read it will come with 180 both ends, i have ordered 203's and the Orbea magnet, also the calliper spacers. Fingers crossed it's all correct, normally i would wait to check everything however with Xmas and how deliveries almost stop i don't want to be unable to ride in...
Hi,
Whilst I am waiting for my M20 to be delivered I am getting upgrade parts organised and get them fitted over Christmas. I assume the bike comes with centre lock discs ?, the carbon wheels I have to go on are 6 bolt, what have people done about the magnet ?, on the Trek Rail for example the...
Yep, great points, I Def don't do full send downhill, I am a ex xc racer and tend to ride trails with the odd jump etc, where I ride tbh there are no narly rides, would have to travel a distance for something really challenging
Thanks for all that info, really appreciated!
I ordered the Rise in the end, it has the new motor so interested to see what noise levels are like. Tbh it can't be louder than the rail, that whines like hell and also rattles a fair bit on the way down. Interesting to hear your views on the EXE...
Thanks !, just waiting for the bike to arrive now. Have you changed anything on the Rise ?, I am going to move the nice bits from the rail over, AXS transmission, dropper, carbon wheels
Thanks, I feel the Rise is the way to go, some great deals on lower models (M20, M10) then will move over AXS along with any choice upgrades I want to make. Already have some nice lite wheels to go on, so getting heavy wheels on the bike spec is not a issue.
