When I said countless tales of motor problems I was referring to the FF Levo not the SL. In fact, that's one of the reasons I was considering an SL, because there don't seem to be as many issues...or is it too early to tell?
Out of interest, how many miles have you done on your SL?
Thanks for this, it's really helpful. I'm so nervous about Specialized, having read countless tales of motor problems. I currently own a Haibike with Bosch motor and it's never let me down over a 2 year period but it's so heavy I can't lift it into the back of my car without assistance, hence...
Thanks for all the input.
Now I've heard that customer service is crap, I'll avoid Lapierre. I am close to the Specialized Concept Store in Harrogate and was always favouring the SL. Anybody have any experience with Specialized Concept Stores? I'd put customer service high on my list of...
Thanks for your input Rob. Can't find much info on the eZesty. With the eZesty motor having higher torque, is that really noticeable
during riding compared with the SL? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I think you've ridden both bikes haven't you?
Thought this was the Specialized group? Can't find a Lapierre group and as I mentioned, I want the Levo SL but am concerned re reliability. Thought I might get some feedback from Levo SL owners.
Where should I post this question?
As the title suggests, I'm contemplating a lighter ebike and my choice would be between the Levo SL or Lapierre eZesty. I want the Levo but I'm having doubts re reliability but also unsure of the eZesty as there's not many of them about, so maybe they have the same issues?
Any thoughts would...
It's ready for collection on Saturday, so hopefully, this will solve the problems. It's had everything replaced now including the motor, so fingers crossed.
Yes, this is the 4th time it's been in for repair and the LBS is 40 miles away so an 80 mile round trip each time. They even tried to charge me for the battery charging port rubber cover, as it had split. I challenged them and they've backed down.
A further update for those interested...
Had a new wiring loom and a battery connector shim fitted got the bike back and did 2 rides without any issues...then plugged in to charge and all the lights on the controller lit up and no power the the cranks.
Taken it back to the LBS and Giant are...
Very interesting to read this. I'm still pondering a Levo purchase and I assumed that if I bought the bike mail order, any warranty work could be carried out at my local Specialised Concept Store and Specialised would reimburse them.
This has thrown another spanner in the works with my...
Just been quoted a £650 discount on a 2020 Carbon Expert model. What are the differences between the 2019 v 2020 models apart from the Fox 36 forks?
I can buy the 2019 Carbon Expert for £5800, that's really tempting me but if there's been some improvements under the hood which affect...
I'd be interested to know how Specialised would handle warranty issues which started in the first 2 years of ownership and continue after the bike's warranty has expired.
Anyone with any experience care to comment?
Wow, it's scary reading about all the battery and motor failures which seem to be pretty common. What really does concern me is the 4 week wait for a new motor!!
If these bikes are so popular, why is there no stock available in the UK?
I really want to buy this bike but don't want to shell out...
